I never got into chocolate milk, but love plain 2% milk after a workout. If chocolate is your thing, go for it!

We used to give chocolate milk out after our girls cc practices or meets because it was what they would drink. I know Idad used to blast me for this because of the sugar content but we knew that they weren’t going to drink regular milk. And I thought it was better than chugging Gatorade.

My trainer was telling me this morning he was annoyed because he took his 9 yo stepdaughter to soccer practice (normally his wife does) and the coach gave all of the girls donuts before practice. The mini kind but the girls all took several.

Welcome to my neck of the woods, C3 and good luck in the race. My yoga teacher ran the same race the last 2 years and others from my studio will be running this year.

I am back on my routine of 3 mornings running and 2 days yoga before work. Loving the slightly cooler mornings but it is getting light later and later. I will not be running in the dark for multiple reasons, but I have a few options I will explore to keep up the running/cardio. Stopped in at the local OrangeTheory while walking on Sunday. I looked around and was able to get some questions answered. I will be doing a free trial class in the next few weeks.

Check Meb’s Twitter - he’s riding an Elliptigo!!! https://twitter.com/runmeb

For immediately after that race, intense run or ride: a cup of chocolate milk with an Oatmega Organic Peanut Butter Crisp energy bar dunked in it. So good plus 22 gms protein, high GI carbs for quick replenishment of muscle glycogen and lower GI carbs for more sustained uptake. Yum :).

For me, it has to be ICE COLD. I bring it in a thermos, then packed in ice inside a cooler. Overkill perhaps, but always the perfect temp.

Elliptigo is one of Meb’s sponsors!

Has anyone ever done any kind of Aqua Core program? My park district is offering trial classes. I got shut out of the Fluid Running times I wanted so I was thinking of trying it.

Never heard of that! The name sounds fabulous. Can you please be our guinea pig for Aqua Core?

I had a great run this morning – probably helped by the cool temperatures. Fastest I’ve run in months. It’s nice to know I can still do it.

My high school reunion is in a month. This is the first one we’ve ever had. I hated high school, so,I have very mixed feelings about this.

BB - I am nothing if not a guinea pig! Here’s the description - “Experience an exciting new way to enjoy the water and strengthen your core and raise your heart rate. The AquaCore workout is performed on a floating mat at the (name of facility). You will execute movements and stances designed to develop strength on a platform that is not only easy on your joints, but will challenge your balance and flexibility. The water mat provides unique support for your body as it conforms to its curves to help in therapeutic action, making this class ideal for all ages and levels. Exercises are performed sitting, laying, kneeling, and standing and you will work at your own level.”

Fireandrain - you’re a better person than I. I didn’t like high school and I wouldn’t go to a reunion for all the tea in China!

LOL. I can see me on a floating mat! I would be in the water pretty fast! It sounds interesting!

One thing I have loved about Tennessee over Dallas is the beautiful, cool Septembers. Both my husband and I mentioned tonight that this was feeling an awful lot like Dallas. It was 94 today.

Wow! It’s cooling down here and the leaves are starting to turn. I’m a fall girl (not to be confused with the poster FallGirl). Took a 2 hr bike ride w H today - beautiful out.

That class sounds interesting PG - how long is the class - 30 mins? 60? I just get bored with something not too fast moving if it’s too long…

I think I’ve only been to one class reunion - 10th? I’m less than an hour from my hometown but reunions are not my thing… I do like hearing about others though!

I have booked a room in the hotel where the reunion is, so if I’m miserable or bored I can scoot upstairs. There are at least 3 people I’m looking forward to seeing, one I haven’t seen since graduation. Funny thing is that I’ve been to several of my husband’s high school reunions, and I have more friends at his than I’ll probably have at mine. I’d be more psyched if the organizers weren’t being obnoxious and reminding me why I hated HS … but this is seriously moving off of our diet/health/etc. topics. (Although I would like to shave off 1-2 pounds in the next couple weeks.)

I have carefully avoided HS and HS classmates since graduating from HS a few years ago. Okay, more than a few. You all are braver than I am!

Rest day today, so only pup walks on the horizon. Had a relaxed run yesterday morning at MAF+ pace, then went to an excellent circuit strength class last night. Used the Bosu, TRX and kettlebells. Three good circuits with a quick cardio burst for good measure. Only 45 minutes but quite the workout. I need to go to this class regularly. Challenging but fun and you didn’t have to do anything longer than a minute - but one minute of TRX Pikes sure felt like a long time!

I am both Fallgirl and a fall girl :). It was 66 degrees and not too humid this AM for my run and I am good with that.

I have never been to a HS reunion as I have always lived far away. I have reconnected with several classmates via FB and am hoping to attend the next one (3 years from now).

My problem is that I went to high school in St. Louis, which was a midwestern town but seems to have drifted more southern and redneck in the years since we left it. The political views of some of our old high school friends are just a little difficult for me to swallow. It’s made a definite shift!

Mr. had to leave early-early today, so I walked to the bus stop from the house. It takes 6,000 steps to get there.
