On another note…

Good Pilates session this morning; a big part of what I’m doing now is partner stretching which really helps open up my hip flexors and hamstrings. Did some really challenging stuff which required me to overcome my fear of falling backwards off the long box on the Reformer but I managed to survive. Next week will be another “regular” session, then the week of the race simply stretching everything out so I’m ready to go. It really has helped.

@abasket, that sounds like a nice run. I just don’t have the energy to run in the evenings and the pups are eager for their dose of attention.

I hope everyone has a good day today and a nice weekend if they don’t feel like reporting in here today.

Good morning all - the job interview went well & the run felt great!

Sabaray - I have done some Pilates reformer classes & really like them. The one studio nearby is kind of pricey, which has been holding me back from doing more, but I think it might be worth it to dive back in. (Once I have a job lined up!)

I have a fear of falling backwards, too. Sounds like you are doing great, sabaray!

3.1 miles this morning. Getting close to where I will need my headlamp, but it was just bright enough when I started.

We are being hammered with rain, and winds are picking up. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we do not lose power bad enough for my doc to reschedule my appointment which is supposed to happen later today.

Hope @C3Baker made it to Seatac safely.

Stay safe, Bunsen - that looked like a terrible storm!

I’ve no doubt that a new job is on the horizon, Gertrude!

The one drawback to Pilates is the price, no question - but I love my studio, it’s really more than a place to workout at. I think most things are less expensive where I live compared to some of the larger metro areas. I personally really enjoy it, but it really does require commitment to see any type of improvement or progression - I guess like most exercise, really!

I really need to be eating better. As you all know, I’m famous for stress eating - no fast food or donuts yet, but it’s taking a lot of willpower.

Okay, not letting me edit, but Bunsen, stay safe!

Fingers crossed, Gertrude.

There are donuts in my office today brought in by…ME! I have some volunteers working on a project for me for a couple of days and said I would provide them treats. I keep directing everyone to the donut box so that they might be gone before I get an itch to have one! So far my egg and yogurt/cherries is carrying me through the morning!

Good luck, Gertrude! I literally stole a donut this morning from another department. I was walking by and stuck my hand in the box and scurried away! (I’m sure I could have asked and been given permission, but instead I did a grab and run!) I have to say- it was VERY good! Friday does not tend to be a good eating day for me.

Good morning, everyone!

To those who are hurting and slowly recovering, I wish today to be better than yesterday! And to those who arent, may you keep moving on!

I’ve been continuing my “self-rehabilitation” plan on squats so I added 10 pounds because Monday felt extra good. I go down and I hear a series of crunches, a little pain, and a slight relief. Don’t know if it was good or bad. I’ll find out by tomorrow!

I did get my butt to the gym and afterwards I felt a thousand times better than I did going in. It reinforces in my mind how just the initial effort to try to make a change can combat the onset in depression. Gotta keep moving!

They’ve made too much you say, @MomofWildChild ?? runs to the website

Reach and grab and run is my MO, too, when it comes to Friday treats  Can’t have any food though today until after my appointment, but I am inhaling the virtual donuts. Imagine if we lose power and my appointment gets cancelled? I would turn into a raging Medusa!!! Lol.

@abasket Knowing donuts were in the office on Friday mornings always made me get to work just a little bit faster to ensure I got my favorite!

@Niquii77 - just an FYI that the WMTM at Lulu is not returnable/refundable. Of course, if the item sent to you is obviously defective, they will deal with that.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about that part…I’ll see if I can head to the store in the next couple of days and find my true size.

Well, the storms forecast here for Saturday have caused one of the two 5Ks I was registered for on Sunday to be cancelled, and the other one is postponed a week, which puts it the day after the 10K I’m registered for…, so now I have to decide which of the two races to do: the 10K a three-hour drive away (but gorgeous trails and a race organizer who has homemade chocolate cookies at the end) or the 5K a ten-minute walk from my house (or I could switch that to the 10K course). Or both?

I’m glad I did at least a short easy run with the dog this morning (it was suddenly and briefly sunny and gorgeous and I grabbed the dog and went for it–and got back just as it started thundering).

That sunny break was probably the eye of the storm passing through the area. Off to the doctor’s! Not looking forward to tonight.

Good luck at the doc BB - totally rooting for progress for you!

Yes, good luck BB at your appointment. I hope the storm doesn’t affect you. And fingers crossed for you, gertrude! Go Niquii! Glad you got your gym visit in.

Go for both, dmd  Sounds like you would regret not doing the beautiful but distant 10K.

Yum to virtual donuts. I fell off the good eating wagon today, hard. I went to Trader Joes and left with pumpkin spice junk: cookies, biscotti, cereal…Just watch me try to run all that off :frowning: I did get in 4 miles of running and more walking. The running felt very hard and slow.

I’m anxious to hear from Bunsen about the doctor visit.

I’ve had a tiring work week and some unpleasantness on my women’s running forum. I’m not a fan favorite!
