Glad you are back with your running group, sabaray! Happy Birthday and Anniversary! I wish we were all joining you. Enjoy the weekend.
37 degrees this morning. I wore a headband and gloves for the first time this season (except for when I was in Colorado). I have a meetup with my Oiselle Ambassador group after work for a short run and wine!
Enjoy your dual celebration, Gertrude! That sounds like fun!
PlantMom – good for you doing strength workout. I have yet to run since Sunday but hope to get out there tomorrow morning. A 6 mile run would feel good I bet.
BunsenBurner – definitely tell Santa! I have an even older iPhone (4S) and I think I’ll put a new one on my list too.
Yesterday was a rest day, at least from exercise. It was a very long work day and I got home way too late to do anything. Tonight will be a workout at the gym with my trainer.
sabaray - I am glad that you are back with your running group! I know you enjoy the company.
Gertrude - Have a blast at the Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon! What a great way to celebrate your birthday and anniversary! Congratulations on your new job offer - another great reason to celebrate!
I went to the Oiselle meet up and it was fun. It was combined with another running group in the awesome little downtown of Franklin. There were probably 18 people. I had a little trouble in the part getting out of town because of my bad eyes and bad depth perception in low light levels- even with my headlamp. I was cautious. Someone fell but it wasn’t me! My daughter and I did 3 miles (she did a little before the group run) and then we all were at a fun coffee shop/restaurant for wine and food. It was a fun evening. People had fabulous reflective gear- even the 2 dogs that were in the group. I mean serious, light up stuff- vests, shoe lights, headlamps, arm bands. It was good.
I haven’t run with a group in ages and I enjoyed it. I need daylight, though.
Trainer workout (all with free weights), followed by a protein shake, and a Slow Flow Yoga class. I drove to Providence to bring my D some stuff for her new apartment; we went out to a really great dinner at a place called New Rivers. Resisted the pasta and after-dinner sweets, but did have wine.
I had a good 3 mile run this morning with Back on My Feet. Our members are all veterans and it was a very fun Veteran’s Day celebration. Our route this morning went by all the various monuments in downtown and highlighted veterans, along with running by our state capitol. The best (worst?) part was running up the steps of the War Memorial. I didn’t count, but there were a LOT of steps!
sabaray - Pilates with a vengeance, sounds like you mean business!
MOWC - your run last night sounded fun, and I’m glad you enjoyed running with the group.
Ran 3.7 this AM. First 2.5 all running, walked another 0.5 than ran the rest. Still need to work on picking up speed, but will look into that after I can run farther.
Ha - my last two Pilates sessions were pre and post race assisted stretching, not a lot of “work”. Today was tough; I stretched at home before I went but then we stretched and did a lot of core work, hip openers, back extensions…all of my least favorite things but really essential foundation work.
That sounds like an awesome run this morning, C3Baker. I am grateful to and humbled by everyone who has served in our military.
Sabaray is so right! I love that it’s “ok” to post the victories and the setbacks here. To use this thread for accountability if that works for you. To see that people aren’t just logging miles but supporting causes, doing it with friends, setting goals, or not setting goals and just having the goal be enjoyment! I’ll always be thankful to iDad for making me feel comfortable dipping my feet in the D/E/W thread and making my way.
