Good suggestion, Bunsen - but it looks like the closest spot for me is a 2 hour drive! As MOWC seems determined to kill me with all of these hilly races she keeps suggesting, I better get in shape! The fact they sell these in areas even hillier than mine gives me hope.

I would be afraid I would start rolling backwards down a hill!

Rolling hills can be an issue because the rider has to shift gears quickly and/or push hard to get enough momentum going to get to the top of the hill. Longer climbs, like the hilly driveway at our house, are much easier in my experience with the Arc. One disadvantage of the Arc is that it cannot be used on a bike stand at home while the other models apparently work with bike stands. I do not consider it a huge disadvantage though. I would hate to drag inside the house a bike used on trails where Canada geese poop!

MOWC - I’m 5’8". I think I remember being 120 as a college freshman because I remember the cc coach telling me I was too fat!

Yoga today–hips and hamstrings class. Lots of good hip openers. Ouch! Food shopping at two different markets and a cheese shop was the way I got my steps.

Not doing a Turkey Trot but my kids challenged me to do a Turkey Plunge (jump into the Atlantic Ocean) on Thanksgiving morning. I am usually a designated bystander.

Brrr! That doesn’t sound so bad today (when it was 75) but not tomorrow!!! (chance of flurries!)

Left work early and fully enjoyed the entire afternoon outside. Cut all the grass, stained and varnished an old library table for a desk, walked the dog twice, raked some leaves and put away a good bit of my planters, the patio umbrella, etc. 22,000 steps without a run or official long walk!

Count me out of the Turkey Plunge - brrr!

I was a slacker this morning - 6 pretty easy miles then out to breakfast after. I need to get busy around the house today!

I’m the opposite- I got my work done in the house today - will head out to do some groceries and THEN hit the gym. We sadly traded our 75 degree weather for gale force winds and 39 degrees - I imagine many of you will be feeling the same.

Got to run with people! Joined my daughter and some friends of ours who are in town for the Monkey. One is the guy who did triple Monkey 2 years ago. He ran 2 full Monkeys alone overnight and then the race. Insane. Today he did 12 miles and will do Monkey tomorrow. I ran 9 a little faster than I should have. Bagels afterwards. 41 degrees with some north wind but sunny.

Early yoga and then a 3.5 mile walk to return library books and another errand. It is absolutely beautiful out right now but soon to change.

New FitBit arrived yesterday. It’s charging and then I need to set it up.

Pup AND husband walk this morning! I had to “encourage” H to come with us; pup never needs any enticement … During our walk about, H got a haircut – pup and I continued on and then circled back for him. Then on to a the local branch of our bank so H could get a new debit card – he’s been without for months. (Insert story here about our mail being forwarded all summer, and credit cards and the like are not forwarded by the USPS.) It didn’t seem to bother him much since I’m his live-in ATM, but I find it a little annoying. We’re also walking to a concert this evening.

I’m still feeling pretty good gait-wise. Not 100% but certainly better than the last couple of weeks. The walking doesn’t really do it for losing weight, though. Monday I’ll try some running again.

We did most of the windows yesterday – it took longer than it should have because of window troubles. They’re all the easy clean/tilt-in variety, which sounds great until you discover most of them don’t work properly. So, there was lots of swearing by H and hammering of things that should not have required it. H wants to finish the upstairs ones today; I’m afraid we’ll get to one that even the hammering doesn’t fix, and then we’ll be left with a window that doesn’t close. Not ideal as the temperature drops … Oh, and just to make it all even more frustrating, the windows are only 5 years old.

bromfield and FallGirl – good for you for doing yoga and running – that’s my ideal combo. I remember pigeon pose really opened up my hips.

Gorgeous weather in Central Park – did 7 miles – saw a race and asked a volunteer how long it was. 60 KM! I felt like a real slacker!

The gym was nearly empty today. Maybe 6-8 people when I was there. One other female and she was probably 45 years younger than me! Had to laugh - in 6 weeks the place will be PACKED. If only people would plan ahead for those holiday pounds…

But really a good workout! 3.5 miles on the track split in two efforts (35 minutes of running on the track and had the entire surface to myself the whole time!), rowing and 10 minutes of weights. Yeah me!!!

I found this fascinating.

I’ve always thought a health club with walking tracks, treadmills, cycles could generate their own power. Maybe everyone on this thread has a future as hired “power generators.”

^^^That is so, SO cool! It must be expensive - otherwise, let’s expand it!

120 at 5’8" seems very lean. I k ow you will be able to tell how you feel. You can channel your inner Kenyan!

Wow. 120 and 5’ 8"? As my sister used to say, you will be able to hide behind a broomstick!

I am down to the lower end of my target weight bracket despite eating like a horse and not running, so I must be doing something right.

Spent the entire day gathering thanksgiving day supplies. Phew. I am tired! Hosted a small dinner for friends who need cat sitting help during the week… Definitely tired!

The weather is schizophrenic! 67 degrees, sunshine and blue skies today made for a great outdoor ride. But now it’s 35 degrees, raining semi frozen slush with howling wind. Looks like I’ll be working out indoors on Sunday :(. Oh well, it will give me an opportunity to use my new power cage for squats.

Good for you, Bunsen!
Glad you got an outdoor ride in, Michael! I got a notification from Strava (exercise log- online) yesterday morning saying “You are the emergency contact for WildChild’s next activity.” I had no idea what said "next activity " might be! Turns out he rode 104 miles all over Southeastern PA! Did you see him, Michael?

Lol, MOWC, if he was up around Dolyestown and a bit beyond, maybe! If he saw a guy and 2 ladies all wearing pink Sturdy Girls kits, then yup, that was us :).

And now the weather’s sunny again but that wind is still blowing. My outdoor “playground” was supposed to get stained today. With last nigh’s rain and today’s wind, that’s not happening.
