The Roga with shorts underneath - do you know if the shorts have the grippers? I like the cut of the skirt but am not sure about just the brief underneath.

Love the Snap color. Price isn’t bad! They look a little narrow in the hips - my hips are NOT narrow. Wondering if it would want to ride up while moving??

I feel so left out of this conversation, lol.

Well, you yourself admit you don’t run, Michael - not sure how the skirt would work on the bike!

Probably needs more padding!

Post of the day, sabaray.

I have the Roga with shorts, too. Both my daughter and I feel it runs big. The one with briefs runs more true to size. The shorts aren’t as grippy as other skirts I’ve had but they don’t ride up enough to bother me. I’ve always preferred the briefs, though, ever since running skirts started! The Snap color is even better in person.

Oh my goodness, so many posts to catch up on! I love the enthusiasm, motivation, and chattiness of this group! It was a good weekend. Saturday I did 11 miles; I ran 3 miles down to where a group training run met up, and then did the 8 mile run. Afterwards was a good pizza and beer party (except I don’t drink beer and didn’t feel like pizza at 10 am, but it’s always fun to hang out with running friends). Sundays are normally a rest day, other than walking. The dog got a really long 6.5 mile walk and then later in the afternoon I did a 6.3 mile run since there is rain all day and thunderstorms after work in the forecast today. I think today is going to be a total washout for running.

CBBBlinker - thank you for updating us on your brother. I’m really sorry to hear that the results weren’t as good as might have hoped. I hope the chemo isn’t too hard on him and does its’ job.

abasket - congrats on the race! It sounded like a lot of fun and I’m glad you like the shirt!

MOWC - congrats to WildChild on an amazing tri! What a great start to the season for him!

Bunsen - it sounds as if you’re really busy but having fun with all the work on the new house! Congratulations to your daughter on the job offer! I hope it comes through in writing for her today - I’m happy for all of you that she found something local!

4.1 miles. Really, really wanted to stop at about 2 miles, but kept slogging away.

We finally had a sunny, fairly warm day yesterday – and all the snow in our yard is gone! Woot, woot!!! 99% sure H and I are headed to Fenway Park this afternoon for the Red Sox game. He’s scoping out last minute tickets online. We’ve never been to Opening Day, so should be fun.

Congrats to the racers. And thanks for the continuing well wishes for my B. I’m likely headed out to visit him later this week.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your brother, CBBBlinker, that the chemo will wipe out whatever cancer cells that are still lurking in his body.

4 mi on the treadmill on Saturday (snow - ugh), and a 2.5 outdoor run yesterday. CBB - I think we live not too far from each other based on some comments, but yes, yesterday definitely had a hint of spring!!

Some strength training this morning, followed by a pup walk of about 2 mi. On my strength days I usually choose 5 exercises, do 3 sets of 12 of those, then 5 more, 3 sets of 12 of those, then (depending on time), 3 to 5 more and 3 sets of 12 of those. A good mix of arms, shoulders, back, core, whatever floats my boat for the day. We’ve got quite an assortment of hex weights as well as a functional trainer so I have a lot to choose from! Hoping that a) I start to see some results before short-sleeve weather, and b) my shoulder holds out.

Also, have fun at the Sox game, CBB - I’m jealous!

Yes- enjoy the Red Sox game even though my favorite player, David Price, is injured.

Swim practice. I almost didn’t go because I had a bunch of stuff to catch up on and people coming over. But I promised myself I’d go more often, so I went, dammit.

Yeah, well I should know better than to say anything before an event actually happens. We didn’t go to the Sox game because H thought the online ticket price would go down as we got closer to game time. (Really? On Opening Day with nice weather?) Instead prices went up, and the only tickets he was willing to pay for were standing room only. Nope, not doing that. We could have gotten actual seats for $20/ ticket more, but he thought they were too expensive. Gr-r-r-r-r!!! Don’t get me started. (As an aside, I also think he was in a pretty foul mood because he was doing our taxes …)

ANYWAY, at least the Sox won! And @JustaMom5465 – Howdy neighbor!

CBBBLinker, I can relate. Hate doing that stuff. Always end up doing that stuff. Always in foul mood while doing that stuff! Too bad you weren’t there for the Sox win.

Kid’s email came, phew. Now - fingers crossed - we will be moving her into her own digs soon!

Spent a good chunk of yesterday balancing on a ladder holding a relatively heavy light fixture in outstretched arms above my head while Mr. hooked it up above the entryway. My free weights exercises came in handy!

So my weekends in April look like this: 10 mile run, 10 mile run, half marathon, 10k. :-S This seemed like a fine idea when I had just finished my marathon and was planning races for this year, but I sure will be glad when it’s over. I am just not really enjoying the training for the half (and if there was an option longer than the 5k I’d drop down to it, but I feel like I can do more than that and my past three 5k races have all not really been 5k’s and I’m still mad over that).

After this month, I’ll have a 12k at the end of May and a 10k in June, followed by a 7.4k on Independence day. Then there’s a nice little break until half training for the half I’ll do in November, and I’m signing up for the training team for that. I’ll have a 10k and then an 8k after that half to wrap up the year.

In May I also want to start working on speed some more, so I’ll have some questions about that.

And BunsenBurner- congrats to your D!!!

Continuing to keep your brother in my prayers, CBB.

Sounds like a great time in the Chicago race, abasket!

Congrats to Bunsen D on the job.

Didn’t get a lot of fitness in NYC, but H and I got to walk in the park, which I love.

This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for me - work wise, but I was able to start the day out with an outside 3.1 mile run this AM. It’s been mostly treadmill lately, but I ran very well today and the weather was perfect.

CBB, so sorry to hear that your brother is going through this.

There is so much to catch up with here. Congrats to the weekend racers, WC and especially abasket!

In addition to keeping active with the walking and running, I’ve been scheduling and keeping the doctor maintenance program this aging body seems to require. Got my DEXA bone scan results today and learned that my bone density has decreased by almost 8 percent in the last 3 years. Ugh. My doc has suggested upping my supplemental calcium but feels that everything else I’m doing for health is spot on. Genetics are showing, apparently. I don’t need to be medicated, yet, but it’s kind of disheartening. Doc said that evolution hasn’t kept up to our vastly improved lifespan. Stay strong, bones!

So happy to see you here Plantmom! In addition to fitness friends you have bone density (or lack of) friends here too!

BB, will your D be “near” in her new adventure???

I was just about to go rattle your cage, Plantmom! Glad you showed up! Yes, we are with you in the bone density battle.

So happy to hear from you, @PlantMom! Those darn bones.

The kid will be staying here locally! So there is that added benefit of dipping into our Costco loot once in a while and getting her apartment furnished quickly.
