I live in a small town in NJ, rutgers university is nearby and it has a great ba/md program that is rather hard to get into. I can of course apply there and live sooo close to him. That’s cool i guess, but i have the urge to explore life and go to very urban places, ny perhaps. I want to get away from home. Obviously the program available at the college is much more important than the location…but i would hate staying in the same town for like 7 or 8 more years…!!! I want to go to ny and have fun.

replace him with home .

Maybe study abroad during one of your college years? You could always visit NY.

Well, first see if you are accepted, then worry about it. Try some equally “good” programs elsewhere, especially in urban areas, which you seem to be favoring. If you’re only accepted there (worst case scenario) then I agree with schrizto, try study abroad, you’ll likely get enough of the urban…ness within a year.
