I felt that this edit time limit is not so productive in certain areas, such as the FAQ in engineering forum.
I appreciate the supermod helped us to edit the post, but I felt that if there is too many requests it can be really annoying.
Is it possible to disable the limit in a particular forum, or is it a global thing?

I think its global. I do think the time limit should be extended…from 15 minutes (or whatever it is now) after the initial post to 1 hour after the last edit. Also, more experienced members should be allowed to edit w/o a time limit at all in certain forums
True. If veteran members can granted this it would be great. But if we can also disable it for a particular forum will be also good.
I think the primary reason to set this bar is to force people to be responsible.
