<p>I just wish I knew if I’m in the GMS records. I remember getting all parts of my application submitted before the deadline. I’ve been redialing my registration ID and social security number but to no avail. I’m worried.</p>

<p>Greeting to everyone, I applied for the Gates Scholarship this year and I was informed on March 8, 2010 that I will be a finalist in the hopes of becoming a Gates Scholar. I am a African American from Maryland.</p>

<p>I was about to follow GA2012MOM’s advice and post a question in the financial aid section, but as I was looking through my FAFSA I realized I somehow did make a bit of a mistake when entering my parents’ income! So after I fixed that, my EFC was low enough to qualify for Pell Grant =DD This is such a relief! Thank you for all your advice and help! </p>
<p>To all my fellow finalists, CONGRATULATIONS! I wonder, does how early or late you submit your 5 forms make a difference in whether or not they give you a scholarship? Of course, I don’t want to wait until the last minute…but, so far, I’ve only received admission from UC Davis due to ELC (since I got a rejection from Stanford and all the other UC’s have not notified yet). Should I wait until I (hopefully) get my Berkeley acceptance, or should I just send in my Davis letter of admission?</p>

<p>So my friend emailed them about not receiving the “0 out of 5” message, and all they wrote to him was this: </p>
<p>“Thank you for applying to the Gates Millennium Scholars Program. Please check your mailbox within the next two weeks. You should be receiving notification soon.” </p>
<p>So not all the finalist get notifications by e-mail? Some will receive them by mail?</p>
<p>Should I wait for my NYU (#1 school) decision to come before I send them my materials? The thing is, I’m going to be out of the country from April 1-8 and I might not get it until April 1 (hopefully before). I know it says it does not have the be the school you ultimately attend, but should I still wait?</p>
