<p>It really frustrates me how ambiguous it all is about when we’ll find out.
And they have to send it through mail! So I can’t even check on the school computers at lunch or something; I have to anxiously wait until I get home every day to check the mail.

<p>I’m telling you, around April 15th you’ll know if you’ve got it. If not that day. I figured the same thing for finalists and it ended up happening. I’m sure it’ll be a similar timeline.</p>

<p>haha i know right^^^ i hope it is true, i need money for college! if i can win this Gates my life would be amazing! anyone else apply for any other scholarships? i was thinking, if you win this scholarship and say you also win th kfc scholarship(which is 20 grand), could you have a 20,000 refund check since gates pretty much covers everything? lol</p>

<p>I hope you’re right Obstinate =) I agree with your logic, I’m just worried that I’ll get so anxious on April 15 and then it doesn’t happen. That’d suck.</p>
<p>Anxious to hear about Gates too! Received a really good aid package from my school, but there’s still a little bit left over that Gates could help pay for (would open up a lot of opportunities for studying during the summer/more flexibility with choosing a job instead of work study etc.). Also, it seems as if GMSP is willing to pay for the graduate field I intend to pursue, so it would be a big relief to me and my parents…</p>
<p>If I am fortunate enough to be a scholar, I hope the requirements for maintaining scholar status aren’t too high; it might be difficult if they have a ultra-high GPA req or something similar. Anyone current scholars know of any such requirements?</p>
<p>All of my documents have been faxed and mailed in but the recording is still stating that that they have zero documents for me…anyone else encountering this?</p>

I Believe they have already sent out all notice of finalist-status. Did you applied by the deadline on January 11? If so, maybe try calling them?</p>

<p>You all are finalist! Right? Any how I just had a question what do you think they focus more on gpa or ec for years students in my school have won this scholarship but it seems to me that they focus heavily on your gpa because all the winners are in the top 10 literally.</p>
