<p>A doctoral degree isn’t a MD. It’s the highest level of many academic disciplines. For instance in education you can get a EdD - Education Doctorate or a PhD. Doctor of Philosophy in, this case, Education. In the sciences the highest degree is the PhD. </p>
<p>A JD is a Juris Doctorate, but in their case a LLM is the higher degree.</p>

<p>kangaroo, I think Gates will cover health insurance, because it should be included in your COA. My daughter was a QB match, so Gates plays a very limited role in her funding, she just receives work study funds… All you scholars that have questions about coverage should call your FA office, and ask if there is a specefic FA officer that covers Gates (there is one at my D’s school.) They will be able to answer your questions.</p>

<p>I got rejected… it is honestly one of the saddest things I’ve ever experienced… besides the fact that my efc=0 … now I can’t go to the university I wanted.</p>
<p>i got my rejection letter…funny thing is i noticed it says united negro fund…but i applied to the HSF(hispanic) or does everyone get it from the vice president whos in the UNF???</p>

<p>kangaroo, call your school, ask for the FA officer that covers Gates to include it on the FA award letter that they send to Gates. I’m not sure what the norm is for that, but since it is a mandatory fee, I would assume it would be covered.</p>
