<p>I’m good though, not hurt much. I wasn’t expecting it at all, hah. I had hope until I got my ride and then it was like “nope, the universe wouldn’t allow me this much luck, I’m not getting the gates”. Things are good though.</p>
<p>^That’s odd. I know someone who was rejected by UNCF when they were rejected from the finalist round.<br>

<p>It will be in late September, either in the D.C. area (northern VA) or CA, which I don’t know where that is. They will notify you and make your travel arrangements.</p>

Not so sure what you mean by ambassador, but it is expected that you will pass on your experience with Gates to others. Why do you think that an 'ole mom like me is still here? My daughter is a sophomore, but I am so greatful to Gates that I need to help in any small way here.</p>

<p>I AM A GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLAR!</p>
<p>I wasn’t expecting anything to arrive, I was actually waiting for a rejection letter and even got ready to tell my parents that I didn’t get it. When the USPS mail arrived, I went for it, and there it was. That big, giant, and white envelope that said Gates Millennium Scholars. I calmly went inside, opened it and there was the letter and the certificate saying that I was a Gates’ Scholar. My eyes got watery, I started trembling, and I got the certificate and showed it to my dad. He just started laughing at the way I was reacting because I really wanted to cry, and I couldn’t, and I was trembling uncontrollably (and I still am).</p>
<p>To tell the truth, sometimes I doubted about God, but now I know that he is there and that somehow he sent me this gift and he wants me to succeed in life. Thank You God! Thank You! Thank You! SO MUCH!</p>
<p>Congratulations to all Gates Millennium Scholars and for those who got rejected (I’m really not good at this) I wish you the best in life, and I know that you will receive other full-ride scholarships to the schools you always dreamed of (I’ll be praying for you).</p>
<p>As for those who are still waiting, I will pray for you right now so you can get that big envelope and not that small letter.</p>
