<p>I believe it covers all the federal ones (PLUS, Stafford, Perkins, etc.); however, it will not cover loans that would be taken out in place of your EFC.</p>

<p>^lovetruth: all it means that Gates won’t pay your EFC; But hey, it pays anything else that isn’t covered by grants. So you don’t have to take any loans…unless you’re planning on doing loans for your EFC…which would be odd because your EFC shouldn’t be so high that you have to take loans on it.</p>

<p>I didn’t get the scholarship. I don’t understand why i had just as much leadership and community service as my classmates who got the scholarship and plus my family has been homeless(personal i know) and the students who did get it did not need it and i need at least $15000 more to pay for my school</p>
<p>Are the requirements for renewing the scholarship yearly difficult to meet, or a lot simpler than trying to get the scholarship in the first place? Do you have to be vigorously involved in Extracurriculars or can your academic grades just be good? I’m afraid that I’ll be extremely busy during Freshman Year getting used the changes, etc, that they wont renew the scholarship. =[</p>

<p>@XlSilverTonguelX Once you have the scholarship it’s pretty much secured until you graduate. To renew it they send out renewal forms. Nothing will take your scholarship away unless YOU choose too. You can have them hold your scholarship for various reasons like pregnancy, teaching, PeaceCorps, personal issues etc. it’s called a deferment. You’ll still have the scholarship but they won’t fund your school because you aren’t in school basically. Also a change in your EFC or Pell Grant eligiblity will not hurt you in getting the scholarship again. Once your a scholar you’re pretty much one for life. lol :P</p>
