I have the north carolina science olympiad event feb. 10 and astronomy and earth science (rocks and minerals). I’ve barely prepared for this. I know this is wrong. Any advice on preparing/cramming for these events and doing decently? THANKS GUYS, you are lifesavers!

anyone have any science olympiad experience? I’m doing Astronomy and Chemistry Lab THIS SATURDAY!

I’ve done rocks and minerals before. Here’s my advice. You have to be able to identify a rock or mineral right on the spot, and you often won’t have much time. I only had two minutes per station. I’d say take less then a minute to identify any samples per station, then answer if you can. You also need a definitive, organized, and easy to access way of actually identifying any and all samples. Those to me, are your keys. Speed, accuracy, and organization.
