Do boarding schools keep their old records of applicants?
I think they don’t because there are so many applicants especially for Andover and Exeter but I’m not sure? Please help me!

We get students who reapply every year, so yes, we keep records (but not that far back).

Thankyou for your reply!
Can I also ask if we have to write all the essays again?

GemmaV- What school are you referring to just out of pure curiosity ?

@notnownao: I would not submit the same essay twice. Shows a lack of interest/effort in the reapplication process.

@swissbrit: I work for Hogwarts. :)

■■■■■!!! I’m the new deputy headmaster of Hogwarts. Severus Potter.

I can tell you that some do. At Middlesex, every time an alumnus comes back to speak, their application and academic records come out (not to the public of course). But often, the funny comments or application answers they wrote in the past are used in their introduction.

This may seem a bit creepy but its really cool. Back in the old days, a teacher would be a little less nice with their words – very blunt and to the point.
Though my memory of this moment is vague, we had a very successful alum come back to speak at an assembly and his job was totally opposite of what one of his teachers commented in his semester review while he was at Middlesex.

Some teachers are still like that in their comments. Ask any Exonian. ;)
