Im probably going to start college with alot of credits from APs, but Im wondering if i should use them or not. Do most people retake the class that their AP score could have gotten them out of to have an easy class or do they use it and take higher up classes? Im mostly concerned with my AP Literature credit and BC Calc credit because i know i will be taking higher english and math classes

bump
did any current students not use their ap credit when they could have?

ye i want to know also if ppl have a huge advantage coming in with lets say 9+ credits…right now i have 6 credits (US history and Biology), but im taking AP Physics, which i wont get a 4-5 on definitely, European Hist which i prob will get a 4-5, and English which i prob wont get a 4-5 on. Will i be at a huge disadvantage, will it make any difference considering im in Echols, that i will come in with only maybe 9 credits while others start with 20?

Don’t you actually have like 14 credits cuz 8+6=14 credits? Did you check on UVA’s website? yeah for echols would it really matter. Also if you do echols could you finish college faster than in the typical 4 years? Like 2 or like 3?

Unless you want to graduate early or place out of some intro level classes, not coming in with many credits isn’t a big deal at all, especially since you’re an Echols Scholar and won’t have any distribution requirements.

yes. sorry to clarify…6 for Bio, and 8 for History = 14 already + a potential 6 more :)
