Do you eat dinner with your family?

It’s a pretty huge deal in my family…we almost always eat dinner together every night.
But for a lot of my friends, their families are so busy that they don’t… Do you or don’t you?? :)

No. Well, average about once in a month.

no my parents work until the late evening.

on monday, wednesdays, fridays, and weekends because my sports are from 6:00 - 8:30 on tues thurs plus 45 min of travel time which cuts out all of normal dinner hour

No. We all eat completely separate meals at completely different times, and usually in different cities.

It’s not really because we don’t want to eat together, it’s more just that none of us eat the same things. For example, my dad loves fried food and ribs and BBQ, etc. My mom likes simpler and microwaved food if possible, and I am a vegetarian. We only eat together on Thanksgiving and Yule.

^ in different cities??

No, I don’t. I have to eat outside with the dog =[

yes. for the most part every single night.

never ever.

athene, I meant that we are always on the go and just pick up food wherever we can. Since I live on the opposite side of the state as my parents, yes we generally eat in different cities.

Once or twice a week. It’s hard because I’m doing the whole school and homework thing, my brother’s doing the whole, “I’m lazy and taking a semester off from college so I’m going to go out through all hours of the night” thing, my mother’s doing the whole, “I’m into ballroom dance after work” thing and my dad’s doing the whole, “I’m trustee of the town thing” so we’re all out and about doing our own stuff. half the time none of us eat dinner anyway.

romsnigypsyeyes: ah. I wasn’t quite sure if you lived at home with them, hence the confusion.

I almost always have dinner with my mom and my dad everynight, especially when my sister comes home from college. Then we definitely have dinner together. It’s nice because it removes that awkward relationship with you and you parents and I feel closer to them. It sounds kinda cheesy but because of that, they trust me more and thats a nice feeling.

Usually we eat dinner together every night. During marching band season I might miss some Tuesday and Thursday dinners because of rehersal.

Ha. I think the last time we ate together was on Thanksgiving when I was ten. We don’t even eat together on holidays. I eat more with my friends families and parents than I eat with my own.

^ is not to be nosy, but is there a particular reason why??

Uh, my mom’s excuse when i was younger (8 or so) was because I smacked when I ate. She obviously easily annoyed. Now, it’s no paritcular reason. Half the time my mom will cook and the rest of us eat and do our thing, the other half it’s everyone for themselves.

Almost Never.

ah I see. do you guys eat out or cook?

I’m an awful cook :stuck_out_tongue: so i like it when my parents cook instead. I once almost killed myself trying to bake stuff.

Rarely. We eat together like twice every few years.
