<p>I thought of this thread at our annual block party yesterday 
It was a potluck, complete with a potluck wine section and a grill. The host house set up tables and chairs for everyone. I chatted with neighbors I know and even met a few new ones (the “block” was really like 4 blocks for the purposes of this party). Got to meet folks who just moved in a couple of weeks ago. It was a good time, I am definitely happy with my neighborhood.</p>
<p>FWIW, we do have sidewalks and are in the downtown area of the village (nearest commercial activity about 2 blocks away) so houses are quite close to each other. Everyone owns a car or two, pretty much, but everyone also walks a lot. We are also located at one of the entry points to a 35 mile bike path so get some bicycle “traffic” going to and from that as well. </p>
<p>As an aside, I love the weather we are having this weekend…the fall crisp in the air with lots of sun :)</p>
