Do you need SATs to get into an American school?

Well… do you? Or do some colleges accept U.K students with their A-Levels?

Thanks.

Overall, the American schools do require the SAT’s, believing it levels the playing field. There are some schools that don’t require the SAT’s, though. It’s best to go to the individual school’s website or check through CollegeBoard.

Some colleges use the A-Levels as advanced credit/standing, possibly gaining you either sophomore standing or being bumped out of introductory classes for that particular subject, if you get C and above or A or something. Again, best to check the school’s website for their policy about that.

depends on what you mean by “school”.

College university.

At major level. Eg; Yale, Harvard etc. etc.

Check out SAT-optional schools.

And some schools are more inclined to UK’s A levels… like erm Kenyon.
