@sax What have you been watching on late night TV?
Anybody have a Pitiful Pearl Doll?
@sevmom I had a Tammy doll - my favorite outfit for her was a black and white houndstooth pencil skirt and a matching cropped jacket. Had a Skipper as well - loved her hair.
I had a Chatty Cathy and a Crissy doll. Then for xmas one year I got a doll that could actually walk. Forget the name but it had blonde hair parted on the side, a pink dress and white shoes. You flipped a switch on her back and off she went. Kind of wobbly and slow but she walked.
I had Chatty Cathy, younger Sis had Chatty Baby. Neighbor kids had me convinced that soneone had broken into the house and stolen them when we were out of town visitig Grandma.
Well, honestly my H IS a huge bad B movie guy… So I can admit to all 1950/1960 monster movies. There was one on when I got home from work today. Here it is. Oh, it’s the 80’s.

Most of my toys came from garage sales. Alas, Chatty Cathy didn’t chat. I did have Chrissy too. Actually, still have…and that’s why I’m on the Bag a Week thread

Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers
@VaBluebird , thank you for starting this thread! I just read/reread 30 pages - so many memories and most of them good ones.
How about other food memories - besides Tab and Tang and Jell-o 1-2-3?
My mother swore that home ec instructors at a university told her that boxed cake mix was just as good as home made and much more economical. We ate a lot of meals made from mixes and kits.
The Commissary carried little glass jars of frozen shrimp cocktail, sold in a multi-pack, that my mother would buy for her lunch on Fridays. We had salmon croquettes (made with canned salmon) at least two Fridays each month. As a kid, I could not understand why my mother “ruined” spinach by serving it with a poached egg on top; that was another typical Friday supper.
