I never have, but the bloggers I follow do. They look so cute in them with fall booties and fall tops. It looks fine. But when I’ve put them on, I’m not sure it looks the same.
I recently bought some black, laced high top sneakers with zippers. This is something I don’t typically wear, but I’ll be traveling in a few weeks and wanted something comfy to walk in. I love clothes, so do put some thought into looking fashionable on vacations. Of course, I have skinny jeans, black and blue. But I thought skinny white jeans with a black sweater and some sort of thicker scarf with color would look cute walking out and about.
That’s how I’ve been. I also like to just save them for the summer…a summer look so to speak. Might get tired if I wear them all the time. I was just thinking once with these sneakers on vacation. I won’t do it when I get back…
Where are you vacationing? I’m still seeing white jeans in my area but it’s also been 80 degrees.
I’m wearing a light tan colored jean today and I also have a light gray of the same jean. I will probably retire both pairs in the next few weeks till spring.
I rarely take white pants or dresses on vacation as they usually get dirty quickly. I prefer to bring darker bottoms so I can get multiple wears out of them.
I simply can’t do it. I also can’t wear “White” or ivory sweaters in the fall or winter. Labor Day isn’t quite a hard cutoff, but by sometime in September they are put away.
White jeans? Who wears white jeans ANY time? Lord, I can’t keep from getting random spots on my dark jeans! At least I have a chance that they won’t show TOO badly or will look like part of the fabric treatment
At 50 degrees I think white pants would be a no. On the other hand you’re on vacation and won’t see anyone you know. I have a relative who wears white jeans all year. We all secretly judge her.
I don’t wear them BUT I can see wearing an winter white with a sweater, a grey or tan bootie and any other accessories - this may sound weird but if I would also prefer to go that route on a sunny day. Sounds weird, but something about the sun/light makes it more ok to me.
You won’t catch me in white pants any day of the year, but if you are interested in trying it, why not? If you wear that style of outfit once, I think you’ll know pretty quickly if you like how you look and feel in it.
I find this is an east coast/ west coast thing and an older versus younger thing. In the east most people do not think of wearing white after summer and in the west the rule is not hard and fast and white jeans can be found especially in warmer climate states. My parents generation is a no on white jeans in the fall and think winter white is ridiculous but the millennials think it is okay. I am somewhere in the middle with no hard deadlines but by fall I want my darker colors and cozy sweaters
I think some folks make white jeans work year round. Regardless of season, they don’t earn a place in my travel suitcase. I need every pair of pants to be wearable several times. Can’t count on it with whites.
I live in New England, and no one wears them here once the weather turns cold. I think it’s more climate based than seasonal. I’d definitely wear them in a warmer climate year round.
I know exactly what you mean! I love my white jeans and wear them all the time. I don’t even follow the no white pants after Labor Day. But once the weather gets colder, I can’t get them to work for me. So I guess if you have to wear a sweater (I will wear 3/4 sleeves or even a light long sleeve top) I sadly put away my white jeans.
@sylvan8798 my trick for white jeans is not to pay too much for them. I think my last pair I bought at J.C. Penney, under $20. I don’t feel bad when I spill on them or they get dirty. That and oxi clean.
I would wear them with boots or the shoes you described and a cute sweater. I never did get that no white clothes before/after certain days, Seems like dated advice to me.
