Does any one know how many National Merit full ride scholarships are given at Baylor university for entering freshman?

That’s disappointing, but it won’t be a problem for your daughter. If she did well on the SAT, she will do well on the MCAT. If she was a strong student in high school, there is no reason she can’t be a strong student in college as well.

Actually, no longer having Baylor as a “sure thing” for a full scholarship allows her to look beyond Baylor and really consider what schools fit her best. For example, U Tulsa is a small private university that really invests in its National Merit students. It gives a full ride for all NMFs, and over 1/4 of its incoming class is National Merit, so your daughter would have lots of similar high achieving peers. University of Alabama has a well regarded pre-med honors program and is also a full ride. UT-Dallas has great pre-med prep and has a nerdy techy vibe. A good friend of my son’s is there on the National Merit package and having a great experience. Gustavus Adolphus is a cozy liberal arts college that gives full tuition for National Merit. A number of my medical school classmates went there for undergrad and were very well prepared. It is located in a small Minnesota town with a clinic run by the famed Mayo Clinic for volunteering and shadowing.

So many options–your daughter will do great! Congrats!
