Does anyone have Bosch or LG kitchen appliances?

I am looking at a Bosch Integra dual fuel range and a Bosch microhood combination microwave convection oven. The range has good reviews but I can’t find anything on the microwave.

The Bosch dishwashers have great reviews though there are some complaints about a lingering odor.

I’m also considering an LG refrigerator which is a French door style with four doors instead of the usual three.

I’ve always had Maytag, Whirlpool or GE so this is new territory for me!

If you own any of these appliances, I’d appreciate your insights.

I have a Bosch double oven, top is convection, and I like it a lot. It seems like both ovens take a while to heat up, although it’s possible that the 20-year-old oven it replaced had a bad thermostat and said it was at full temp when it wasn’t.

I had a Bosch dishwasher that was terrible - didn’t clean very well at all. I replaced it with a Kenmore that is vastly superior in cleaning power.

Microhoods generally aren’t thought of very highly as they seem to be underpowered relative to a regular hood.

My parents have an LG Refrigerator with the french doors and the freezer on the bottom. They seem to love it.

I have a Bosch dishwasher - it works great, hasn’t broken yet (a few years), looks great (stainless steel, hidden controls, sleek), and is very very quiet. I haven’t noticed any odor issues. If I was in the market for a DW right now I’d go for the Bosch again.

I have a Bosch dishwasher. Mine cleans great. I think the smell comes if you don’t remember to clean out the filter basket.

We just got a LG fridge & so far like it pretty well. We got it from Sears. The first one they delivered was defective (made noise & didn’t keep food at the correct temp–ran very warm). We complained as advised by the delivery guy & they hauled it away & replaced it with one we like much better in the 5+ weeks we’ve had it so far.

We have an LG french door refrigerator (with 3 doors not 4).I love the layout but the ice maker is smaller than what we were used to with our old Amana.

Put in our Bosch dishwasher 16 years ago. No complaints. My husband is closer to it – has nicknamed him Mr. Bosch and has always appreciated how quiet it is. I have been banished from the dishwasher because apparently is don’t load it properly, so I wash all hand items including pots.

I would recommend the Bosch, though.

Bought the Bosch DW during our kitchen remodel this summer. Checked out all the Consumer Reports, etc. Supposedly very high ratings in all areas, especially energy efficiency.
I should have just listened to my friends.
Does not clean that well (compared to my old Kitchenaid); doesn’t hold as much as old one; utensil rack at rear (inconvenient when I want to slip in a spoon/fork); since all “prongs” are at angle, can’t put some glasses in many spots without rattling against other dishes…
yeah, not thrilled with it…

Twinmom, we are in the final stages of a complete kitchen renovation. I had the Bosch Integra dual fuel range installed a few days ago and have used it once. So far, so good. I did a lot of research before purchasing my appliances. This range got great reviews from various customer reviews as well as several appliance sales people. I did not get the Bosch dishwasher. I didn’t like the way it was laid out. I opted for a Kitchen Aid instead. As for refrigerators, I got a Kitchen Aid french door. I like the clean front. I didn’t want the water/ice dispenser on the door. I’ve had that before and over time it got dirty and there always seemed to be some standing water in the base of it. Good luck with your choices.

I have a Bosch dishwasher that I really like. Very quiet. Cleans well. My prongs aren’t at an angle and the utensil basket is in the front. It has slots for all the utensils so their surfaces are separated and get clean, and you can open it to put in awkward pieces. No odor, and we work it hard.

I’ve had my Bosch dishwasher eight years and it does a great job. I rarely rinse anything before I load it, including mixing bowls from cookies, the processor bowl after making pesto, meat loaf pans. Some tile installers working at my house said they once saw a demo where a frozen pizza was put in a Bosch, the wash cycle was run and when the door was open the pizza was gone! (I did go with the top of the line because I wanted the quietest one available.)

mythmom, Does that mean if I nickname my BF Mr Dishes I can banish myself from washing them from now on??? He always says I don’t have a good dish washing technique, lol!!

We are also doing a major kitchen renovation. I’m feeling good about the frig and the range, but I’m still unsure about the dishwasher and micro. So another question - for those of you that have stainless appliances, how do you feel about mix and matching the handles? Do you think it really is noticeable?

I did post on Gardenweb on their kitchens forum, but, true to form, my friends here at CC have already given me much more input than the true kitchen fanatics over there!

BTW, my husband is also the dishwasher guy. If I stack it, he restacks it when I leave the room. Or sometimes when I am still there!

i have bosch. Theyre great. No problems. Funny to answer this question on this sight!

We have a Bosch dishwasher and microwave for 7 years. No problem with either of them.

I wouldn’t sweat the handles. Buy the appliances you want.

Right now I have three black appliances, and one white. I’d like to replace the white, but it’s a refrigerator that is still going strong after 17 years, and I’m just too cheap.

When we did a kitchen renovation we kept our older Bosch DW and added a new one. They clean very well and are practically silent. The new, energy efficient DWs do not heat your dishes on the dry cycle, so occasionally I have to use a towel on the top of a glass or two, but that is not a big deal. The control panel of the old Bosch had to be replaced once in nine years, but is as good as new now. The European DWs like Bosch and Miele are a bit smaller in depth, but the advantage is that they will fit in flush with inset
cabinets for a seamless look.

When I bought mine last year there were several models. Mine also has straight prongs and a basket in the front. I do somewhat prefer the way the older one loaded, but once I got used to this one, it is probably even more versatile.
