Yes…and we live in a touristy town. DD and I are always laughing to each other when we see a WNTW candidate…

I’m really bad at fashion, but love Project Runway. The best contestants are so creative and enterprising-- it’s amazing what they accomplish in such a short time.

Not as big a fan of WNTW. Stacy has a sneering, sarcastic quality that really grates on me. They don’t seem to take the individual’s style into account, and the hair makeovers usually end up making the women look older and/or matronly.

Ladies, start your engines. New episode at 9:00.

Really?? Ttyl!!!

I remember reading on Clinton’s website that they almost donate the “thrown out” clothes to a shelter.

Bummer. D is home, which means we are stuck watching CSI or Law and Order reruns. The CSI guys are processing some dead dude’s laptop… I’d rather be watching WNTW.

Watched it. The former child “Blossom” was the featured do-over. When was that show on - I can remember it vaguely but cannot recall the year span.

She looked cute at the end, but I’m not convinced that she will keep up with the style changes. She seemed pretty die-hard “low maintenance”.

Love the show!

I thought “Blossom” was, intellectually, a definite step up from the other makeovers. It was interesting to learn that she just got a PhD in neuroscience. And I thought it was classy that she didn’t take their money but paid for all the clothes herself.

But I agree – her hair wasn’t different in the slightest; it’s just going to be the same as it was when they started.

Chinese take-out and WNTW has become the routine on Friday nights at my house. My husband even watches it.

My personal style has not changed much since the LL Bean heyday of the 70’s. I still have my duck shoes from that era. Stacy and Clinton would scream with dismay and then have a field day. I am another female who HATES to shop. (I do love shoes.)

I love, love, love WNTW. My husband watches it with me and we made sure to watch last night because we used to watch Blossom.

I was disappointed in her hair. Usually Nick does such a fabulous job, but it wasn’t different. My husband always says “I wonder if she’s going to get a smokey eye?”-as Carmindy often likes to do.

I love watching WNTW. I must admit that as I watch it I wonder if I could nominate myself - please a makeover!

I see there are husbands that watch also. Count mine in, too lol

WNTW is one of my favorite shows. I have followed some of their rules while shopping - specifically for blazers and pants. I have a black blazer that follows all their rules that makes me look 10 lbs. slimmer!

Please share blazer rules…

This blazer has a waistband and seams (darts) that make you look thinner. I think blazers that are more structured are more slimming than loose ones.

Love the show. Mayim Bialak (spelling?) was wonderful, even insisting that she pay for her own clothes. (Added dimension that was not mentioned: Mayim is a religious Jew, so she dresses more modestly which could explain some choices.) I also watched the English version (complete with their always wearing fishnets!) originally. It is a hoot.

And I too have a dear friend that I would love to nominate. Clothes are not that importent to her…and the older the better.

My husband just laughs at me when I watch any “reality” type show. I miss my daughter!

ellebud: Really? That would have added an element of interest. Does anyone remember several years ago when they made over a Morman woman from Utah?? Modesty was essential, and they did a great job with her.

Yes. Mayim (we are now on a first name basis
) was on Chelsea Lately and discussed that fact that (a) she is a religious Jew (not Chassidic, but modern Orthodox it seems) and (b)her husband is a Jew by Choice. That is to say that he was born a Mormon but converted to Judaism. She mentioned that while she doesn’t wear pants she will wear a shorter skirt. (Modesty is an importent component is the wardrobe of a religious Jew.)
I remember the Mormon woman. She was VERY young, and an artist.

OMG, I just relized that I have admitted to watching: Chelsea Lately, What Not To Wear AND the Real Housewives of New York city. …and some home redo shows…and the New Jersey Housewives are so outrageous that they MAY become compelling…I have no life.

RE…since we are neighbors…come over anytime. My husband runs into another room to watch sports…or I TiVo my shows.
