Does Anyone Watch "What Not to Wear"?

I liked the color - thought it really worked with that pale complexion.

I wonder what happened to Nick.

swimcatsmom- they decided to get another stylist in an attempt to freshen up the show. Honestly, I’m glad. Nick gave almost everyone the same haircut. It made me crazy that he would give women bangs that were too long and in their eyes. You know what is going to happen- they are going to go nuts trying to get the hair out of their eyes.

I also agree that for some face shapes, it’s more flattering to have longer hair.

He was the weak link on that show. I’m hoping the new guy will be better, and not shopping off the womans hair last night was a nice start.

We thought the new guy wasn’t as snarky as Nick. And his voice was soothing. And yeah, after a while all of Nick’s haircuts started to look alike. I always wondered why it it was ok for Stacy and Carmindy to have long hair, but the makeover subjects not so much…

I thought the new color looked nice. I am always amazed that people get so emotional over having their hair cut. I thought the new cut/color looked much better.
She kept talking about seeing herself as a “blonde bombshell”,what???
I thought the new guy was brave to come out and tell her that she wasn’t really blonde.

I liked the new cut and color also. The new eyebrow color - not so much. Too red.

OT - if I colored my hair (didn’t change color much, just got rid of grey) about 6 weeks ago, is it okay to recolor entire head now. I need more than a root touch up (new hairs have turned completely grey).

I’m not sure - I am a chicken (after a disastrous bright red - and I mean red, not any normal hair color - home coloring experience) and go to the hairdressers for color. She does the roots then leaves it on for a while before combing it through the rest of the hair for a while.

My hair dresser paints the roots then combs everything. I go every 4 weeks. She seems to do ends just a couple of times a year. If you just do it once in awhile, doing all the hair isn’t going to look built up. (my experience, I’m not a hairdresser)

I liked the red…she was NOT blonde…wonder how she came to think of herself as a blonde. I think blonde would have looked bad iwth her skin tone.

I miss Nick…I always wanted him to give me a hoog.

And are they too worreid about the ladies’ self esteem to tell them that jersey/knot dresses, if stretched across the abdomen, will highlight their lumpy belly fat? Don’t we all know to stick to woven or flowy to hide the belly?

Wow, tonight’s episode was a real downer, huh?

That woman needed to let down her guard a bit! It was a little hard to follow her reasoning. Like the “slut” shoes when at the end she had just as high heels with a short dress ! I get that she likely had some bad experience with women who solicited or something…very interesting. In her quest to be “different”, she was making herself look like her favorite word - “weird”.

Someone asked Clinton once on Twitter if anyone had ever rejected the $5000 - I believe he said yes, 2 or 3 times and they basically just turned around and went home.

Sueinphilly- yes, go ahead and color!
As for tonight’s WNTW, I am now watching it for the second time (this because my D has just gotten home from work!) and honestly, the young lady on the episode irritates the daylights out of me. Nothing is good enough for her, and she looks soooo much better after they finished with her.Carmindy showed remarkable restraint, bevcause the young woman treated her like garbage.I was really hoping that Clinton would tell her off!

Sueinphilly – There’s a product from Nice ‘n’ Easy called Root Touch-Up. If your color still looks pretty good, and the gray is just coming back at the temples and the top, you can use their really clever brush to just add color where you need it. There’s a dozen or so shades that blend with color from any manufacturer. I’ve used it with different types of haircoloring (I switch between two or three depending on what I want) and have never had any problem with matching shades.

(Don’t forget to brush a little around the neck-hairline if you spend any time with your hair up or in a ponytail.)

I use Root Touch Up as well.^^^^…probably apply it every 6 weeks or so…I kit lasts me 3-4 applications cause I only need to apply in the temple area…

Bring Nick back!!!

I like the new guy’s manner better than Nick’s, but will have to wait and see more haircuts before deciding whether he’s good or not. As for why Nick left, perhaps WNTW decided they needed to do something radical. ;)

Maybe Nick left cause he got tired of dealing with some of those women who pitch hissy fits over having their hair changed. And they are usually the ones whose hair looks the most dreadful.

Nick left? OH NO!

If you ever noticed closely enough, he was a bit discriminatory of whom he asked “do I get a hug?” to. Lol.

We looked it up and apparently Nick was asked to leave - they must needed to “freshen up” the show. At least I liked the hair cut last night. The other two times I’ve seen the new guy, it’s looked like welcome to the 70s.

I thought Nick was a genius. I suppose there are a number of other geniuses in that biz, and I hope the new guy is one. I’ve only seen one episode with him.
