Does Anyone Watch "What Not to Wear"?

Hadn’t check the Parent’s Cafe in a while. Have been watching WNTW since it came on-I love this show. Am torn about the change with Nick. I loved his personality, but sometimes I thought he wanted to cut everyone’s hair short and give them a red color or red highlights. The new hair stylist leaves me flat. If they changed Carmindy THEN I might not watch it as much. Do not know about everyone here, but I find myself talking with friends about the “5 minute face” as if I were Carmindy.

Did anyone see the couple of episodes of the Treeny and Suzannah ( sp?) who came to US and did their WNTW UK version here in the states? I believe it aired on TLC this past spring. It was a great show-different from what I have seen on the BBC and involved the participant’s family.

^^I saw an episode. It was hilarious! The British ladies rocked.

Apparently, Clinton and Stacey do not have to look any further than a closest Walmart for their next makeover target:

[People of Walmart: Site Mocks Worst-Dressed Customers - Yahoo! News](http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20090901/us_time/08599191940100)

I read about this on my TIME twitter and have been trying to get on the website all week to view - I understand they were undergoing some site updates…

BTW, if you use Twitter be sure to follow Clinton Kelly - he makes me LOL with every comment he makes!!!

One summer during college I worked at a K-Mart…what a riot. The customers were a constant source of amusement. Middle aged ladies truly came in to shop in their housecoats and slippers.

Lucky that website was not around the day my, at that time, long haired and bearded son (who worked at walmart in his early college days) showed up to work in a black mini dress with black pantyhose on his unshaven (and very hairy) legs. One of the managers nearly made him go home because the mini dress was so short it broke the dress code! But another manager was cracking up and said it was fine. Oh - it was Halloween by the way.

Thanks for clarifying, scm. Otherwise, TMI about your son’s lifestyle.

Oh, and I do have the greatest sympathy for folks who are employed by Walmarts in beach/vacation destinations. The states of undress in which customers enter the stores are incredible. (And just because you’re on vacation, it’s truly not an excuse for putting your trash near the trashcan rather than *in *the trashcan.)

I wondered where Nick went. The way I watch the show, I see a new one here and a repeat there, so I did not realize he was gone for good, as I would not see him, then see him again. I liked Nick. His precision cuts were often really good. Just short.

I remember wondering what was going on with him though. His own hair got long, a little unkemp, then pulled back, THEN GREASY. Then he came in one day with a buzz cut and it was all gone. Then as it started to grow back, HE WAS GONE. Maybe he will pop up somewhere else…

LOL - the dress was his girlfriends, the very hairy legs in the tights - not pretty, the shoes were mine. The funny thing was some lady stopped him to ask him what store the shoes were from.

Now that’s a hoot!

Wow. We finally got our cable back, and today was the first day in several months I got to watch the show. The new hair guy ROCKED! Courtney’s new haircut looked stunning! Stay tuned for the next Friday’s show - the make over candidate is a… witch!

We never lost our cable, but the show seemed to have disappeared for a while. Very glad it’s back.

My D and I love to watch it. I WISH someone would nominate me! I have never had a clue about how to dress/hair/makeup. Although with this show I have gotten marginally better.

I am afraid that I would be a good candidate for What Not to Wear.

Did I miss a new episode last night? Or a repeat?

I do not know whether this was a new episode or not since we were TLC-less for a few months. %^$@ Comcast “improved” their cable, and we had to get a set-top box to go with our HD TV to be able to see the non-local channels. Irritating. Since they never tell you when exactly the cable guy will show up, we decided to wait until the holidays to tackle the isssue instead of one of us taking a vacation day to wait for the cable guy. Grrr.

I used to work with a lady who wore witch outfits in the lab. She was very sweet and nice, but people would be frightened because she looked scary in her goth attire. I’m looking forward to seeing the witch episode. And I should be paying a closer attention to the Say yes to the dress…

Last night was the first episode of the new season. :)

My DH introduced this show to me years ago, but I’ve missed it lately. Looking forward to seeing it again.

I’ve always wondered how it’d feel to be nominated. Every once in a while, I’ll wear something that’s about 15+ years old (honestly). My only fear is that I’d have to throw out those “classics”.

I just watched for the first time last night. My wife and I made a lot of comments of the “her-butt-looks-so-big-in-that-outfit” variety. I felt guilty, but I enjoyed it, too.
