Does everyone have their popcorn ready for Harry & Meghan?

The South Park “Worldwide Privacy Tour” episode nails it perfectly.

It’s hard to feel bad for Harry’s security troubles when they are keeping the pricey Montecito house, own another home in Portugal, chartered a large private airliner for their family of four to make the return to the UK - and still remain non-working royals. He doesn’t really grasp the concept of not having his cake and eating it too.

Continuing to grouse about not being granted taxpayer funded security will do little to smooth over their return to the UK. Still so interesting that they seemingly rushed to leave the US and get back to the UK without attempting to set any preliminary terms with the RF (with many reports saying KC didn’t know they were planning to do this). The kids are reportedly enrolled in school, but they have no security in place? She won’t show their faces here, but they will essentially be on public display in the UK? Their motives are still a mystery to me. I don’t give their UK stay very long before they hightail it back to Montecito where the press doesn’t care about them.

My personal opinion. Since the children had applications into the school they were accepted into, it seems quite unlikely that the King had no idea about this impending move.

They also did not enroll the children last spring for school in the US, would seem that that there was some pre planned process

Did anyone see the SNL UK skit about Harry and Meghan?

‘SNL UK’ Mocks Meghan Markle, Prince Harry as They Move Back to the U.K.

I did. I was going to post it, but it was really lame. Not one of their better efforts

Hey, it’s British. Their humor is different. The line about the sixty million dollars was great.

Oh, I understand that British humour is different. I meant the sketch was weak by SNL UK standards. I did like the line, “You’re lucky your father isn’t around to see this.”

And I was impressed that George Fouracre transitioned nicely from Keir Starmer in season 1 to Andy Burnham in season 2.

I wonder what’s up with these two and why they really went back. I’m wondering if Harry wasn’t becoming depressed and there might have been some marital issues. No one cared about them over here. He’s used to all the attention and fanfare. Plus, he misses England, who wouldn’t. I’m wondering if Meghan, who just seemed to hate it there is appeasing him.

From the looks at the Nottingham visit, they just seem like they are eating it up. Plus, they are doing what they want. Half in, half out. They are still Royals. Just can’t use the HRH.

Thoughts?

I think time will tell. They do seem to be living the half in/half out life they said they wanted with far more public engagements than they had in the US. They are currently living on someone else’s property. Will they find their own place and really live there permanently or are they filming content and will they return to the US when that is done?

I have a hard time reconciling their desire for privacy with the little crumbs of public exposure that Meghan posts of her kids on Instagram.

Showing the back of your kids’ heads is still showing your kids. Putting an emoji over their face doesn’t protect their privacy. I understand these wistful, sepia-toned images burnish her/their image, but the inclusion of her kids in her social media is a bit of an optics head-scratcher to me.

This seems to be a large part of her “brand”.

I thought I read that Harry is doing a documentary on Diana (is next year the 30-year anniversary?) and of course Meghan will be involved.

I think they are testing the waters over there to see how they are received.

I think it’s confusing that they’ve moved to the UK unless there are money problems or visa issues in the US. I don’t think that question will be answered

I never thought of that, testing the waters. But why? Just the documentary? I guess only they know. But they seem just to flit about, never landing.

My take is that no one in the US cared about them being here. They weren’t treated like the “royalty” that they thought they would be. Maybe part of the move back to the UK is to see if they can get back into favor with the citizens and live that half-in/half out lifestyle, where at least some people care enough about them being there to line up on a corner to try and get a look?

I agree with this! They seem to be soaking up the attention.
