Well because her parents didn’t have college degrees at that time and mom was a minority so likely that played some part in admissions. Those things are usually favorable in college admissions.
To be fair, for all I know, she could be the valedictorian and academic admit.
LOL well, to be fair you knew more than I did. I’d read somewhere that her mom went to USC, but until you brought it up I did not realize she received her degree later… after Meghan graduated college.
Meghan was a theater and communication double major at NU. And my understanding was that she was a very high stats HS student. Plus anyone who goes on to be able to be self supporting as an actress obviously has more acting chops than the average student. To suggested that she got into NU because she was URM or first gen is totally insulting.

If someone has resources, taking gap years and working non-profit isn’t bad. She did live in a small town in Berkshire and then went to another small town for uni so probably wanted to experience life in London.

Blake LIvely would (and has many times) argue otherwise. I think the difference is less that the paparazzi here behave better and more that they are simply less relevant to the paparazzi here. Meghan’s only recurring role as an actress was filmed in Canada and aired on the USA network, neither of which resulted in her becoming a household name in the US nor earned her much celebrity status on her own. The paparazzi in England are of course going to have their own BRF at the top of their list, but the BFR on a daily basis is less interesting in the US so assuming they would be unbothered by the paparazzi in the US wasn’t much of a bet at all but fortunately for them provided them the respite they were looking for. And for what its worth, I don’t think many fault them for wanting that at all, nor take issue with their decision to not be working royals and rather desire to become financially independent of the monarchy. It wasn’t the ‘why’ but the ‘how’ that lost most of that support for them.
Meghan Markle went to the Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse and then Immaculate Heart. She had a good education to prepare her for NU.

It’s good to see Harry and Meghan getting back to living their lives and trying to help others.
Now that the coronation is in the rearview mirror, I have to say I was impressed with how Harry and Meghan conducted themselves.
I hope they continue to do work that helps others. I hope they find the peace and happiness they sought, when fleeing a dysfunctional situation. People may continue to see everything they do (or attempt to do) with contempt, but I admire their fortitude. They will not be perfect, but as Ted Lasso says “Be Curious, Not Judgmental”.

Horrible. But… Two hours of car chases? If I were followed, I’d driven to the closest fire or police station and told the folks there I was being chased by goons.
While the incident sounds unfortunate, they are being followed by men with cameras, not guns. There is no need to drive recklessly or with excessive speed to avoid what is not a life threatening situation. It may be advisable for them to hire cars with privacy curtains/tinted windows in the future.
It turned out to be life-threatening for Diana.
