Does Rap Music Lyric bother you is not correct is it? I believe the way it is written is grammatically correct although I could very well be wrong.
It’s supposed to be “do rap music lyrics bother you?”
The grammar in rap lyrics bother me too. The present tense conjugations of the infinitive “to be” are not “be”.
You mean do they bother folks? Yes. Who needs to hear vulgarities couched in rapid speech. Don’t like rap at all, for that matter.
Of course because all rap is nothing but vulgarities . . .
and alway at light speed . . .
LOL at people being mad at Obama using the n word and the media freak out.
I will add to the bunch who has pointed out that all of rap music is not full of vulgarities and rap is not the only genre of music that contains vulgarities.
Generally speaking, I don’t like rap as a genre , but I can appreciate the talent . I recently added a rap song to my library that was performed at my daughter’s school show that had a positive message and lyrics. I don’t care for speaking songs, or relying on electronics to make music sound better than it would naturally.
I have an issue with music that promotes violence, drug us or disrespecting women . And that isn’t necessarily something exclusive to rap ( think back to Aerosmith days )
I am really picky about my music and I tend to refuse to listen to genres I loathe.
I also can’t deal with country music and almost all pop.
Do not like rap. The vulgarity was just pours salt in the wound. That’s ok. Don’t like country either.
Yeah, I don’t like most county songs either. The closest thing to country that I do like is Taylor Swift, but she’s more pop.
But country is so wholesome and All-American and God-fearing . . .
Every time you take a sip
In this smoky atmosphere
You press that bottle to your lips
And I wish I was your beer
In the small there of your back
Your jeans are playing peekaboo
I’d like to see the other half
Of your butterfly tattoo
Hey, that gives me an idea
Let’s get out of this bar
Drive out into the country
And find a place to park
'Cause I’d like to see you out in the moonlight
I’d like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I’d like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I’d like to check you for ticks
I know the perfect little path
Out in these woods I used to hunt
Don’t worry babe, I’ve got your back
And I’ve also got your front
Now, I’d hate to waste a night like this
I’ll keep you safe you wait and see
The only thing allowed to crawl all over you
When we get there is me
You know every guy in here tonight
Would like to take you home
But I’ve got way more class than them
Babe, that ain’t what I want
'Cause I’d like to see you out in the moonlight
I’d like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I’d like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I’d like to check you for ticks
You never know where one might be
There’s lots of places that are hard to reach
I gotcha
I’d like to see you out in the moonlight
I’d like to kiss you, baby, way back in the sticks
I’d like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I’d like to check you for ticks
Oh, I’d sure like to check you for ticks
Brad Paisley - Ticks Lyrics | MetroLyrics
As long as it’s not too explicit & there’s no excessive swearing, I don’t mind it. I hate Lil Wayne and 2 Chains, but I like Jay Z and Drake.
I like to listen to a little bit of everything, including rap/hip hop. I believe there are good and bad artists for every genre.
Btw for the parents saying that your kids don’t listen to rap…My parents don’t exactly know that I do. If your kids are listening to it & know you don’t approve, they’re not gonna tell you lol
What bothers me most of all, though, is when people don’t stand up for the national anthem. X(
^^^ Ahh yes
@saintfan, there’s difference between provocative metaphors and explicit delineation using vulgarities
http://www.billboard.com/articles/list/475135/top-10-dirtiest-rappers
from the song: “We Got B*es”
“Spit on a b, punch on a b/After I eat some steak, have her tug on my d”
from the song: Get 'Em Girls
“Whips on my fists, houses on my wrists/Your budget on my neck, your spouse on my d/Posters on the wall, posted on my balls/D in her mouth, I tell her (I’m getting money n*****)”
from the song: Ms. Pretty P****
Or I can rub on your c*** and just play with your neck/ And let me slide my finger in that p**** just to check/ Ain’t bout who spending the most money, it’s 'bout who f*** the best/ I’m a high ■■■■■ who a freak baby when it comes to sex"
Please don’t tell me this s creative expression of angst.
^^^ I’m going to go with what I assume to be a tongue in cheek view of country music and raise you a song…
Cold War Kids…Hang me out to dry…great sound ( according to my ears ) and if isn’t straight up about doing laundry, then I don’t know what is
Merp, don’t listen to any of those rappers.
I’m like Lilliana in how I listen to a bit of everything aside from heavy metal, screamo type music and most of country although there are country songs that I fancy.
“Only” by Nicki Minaj
Yo, I never fed Wayne, I never fed Drake
On my life, man, f**‘s sake
If I did I’d Minaj wid’ him and let 'em eat my [butt] like a cupcake*
This is explicit, I will admit, but I’m not recoiling in horror. We’re currently in the butt era in entertainment. Additionally, she’s been dumped on for so long for being a prominent female rapper. Media talking about who she’s sleeping with and how she has no talent. If she wants to put it out there, I’m for it.
“Post To Be” by Omarion
If your dude come close to me
He gon’ want to ride off in a ghost with me (I’ll make him do it)
I might let your boy chauffeur me
But he got to eat the booty like groceries
But he gotta get rid of these [girls] from me
I might have that [guy] sailing his soul for me
How would you feel about your 10 y.o .niece repeating these explicit lyrics?
In terms of a ten year old girl, I would recoil in horror, but I’m not a ten year old girl.
“Does” goes with singular subjects. Such as “Does this car have all wheel drive.” “Do” goes with plural subjects, such as here.
Let’s challenge some of the posters here. Here’s a song that that doesn’t fit the descriptions of rap that a lot of the posters are posting.
