Does sexiling happen a lot here?

^you are right. it was unfair of me to guess like that but i assumed that maybe she said “If you wanna have fun, you can try guessing my culture/background” I thought she meant it was something easy and obvious that goes under a stereotypes (btw I’m against stereotypes but I’ll play the game for fun since i know they are stupid) like being a conservative so I decided to play the game. Hmm now the gender guessing game which I also suck at you could be:

A male with perspectives that differ from the stereotype of the views of the “average male”.

A female with views that could be independent or not, I obviously don’t know who you are so it would be unfair to judge.

I’ll go with female. No wait I changed my mind…Male. Damn it this is harder than a Princeton physics test…and there’s only two options. I know I’ll go with genderless alien.

In fact: why can’t we just judge people as individuals based on their experiences and beliefs?, because then all those demographic statisticians would be out of work and in this economy, we do not want anymore job loss.

@Milktea11,
“I have been on the school’s badminton team for 3 years and was made team captain in my junior year. (I was the only non-senior team captain). I also did the wrestling team for the first time during my junior year.”
Unless there are schools with girls wrestling teams, are there?, I’m gonna guess you’re a guy. Also, I’m gonna go out on a limb here, and based on your username, I’m gonna say you are asian. Do I win? Do I win?

^ we had a female wrestler on our male wresting team in high school, but male is a good guess, better than mine :P

haha, this is soo interestinggg
@mariokart64 when did I ever write that?

in your chance me thread, good stats btw

ummm…i’m pretty sure that wasn’t me since i have never played badminton or wrestled before, haha.
wow, sorry for straying so far off topic…

^lol so are you a guy or girl or genderless alien? My final answer is girl.

Hmm well I think the sexiling topic is pretty much done, lol so funny how many views this thread has. I bet if the word sex wasn’t in the thread title it wouldn’t have as many views.

…well DUH.

^lol true I did kinda state an obvious.

so…is it totally inappropriate for an undergrad to ask out a GSI? …I like grad students.

^lolol, undergrad boys/girls too immature for you or do they lack the intellectual vitality that you crave or something?

I’m probably as immature as undergrads, but . . . I like older guys. (^_^)

^ I guess it’s not inappropriate to ask out a grad student as long as he isn’t your GSI since I’ve heard in some classes the GSI’s grade your midterms, so as long as the GSI isn’t involved with you academically in any way, shouldn’t it be fine? Lol who knows maybe there’ll be some mega hottie GSI who has a thing for skinny Indian undergrads LOL jk.

My understanding is that it’s not considered particularly professional even if you’re not academically affiliated with the student, but that it’s considered acceptable.

Generally, though, I’d recommend just looking at older undergrads; my impression has been that those grads who have time to get involved with people usually aren’t particularly keen on 19-year-olds.

Lol yeah honestly I prefer girls that are around my age, so I’ll prolly stick with undergrads.

Was talking to ecullen there. >.>

^lol I thought it was a general statement for everyone, sorry :P

Well, it goes generally as well, but ecullen’s post was the specific prompt.

Yeah…totally didn’t check this for a few days.
Background–yes, Asian parents. Extremely conservative? My dad doesn’t do much in child rearing, but my mom has reiterated time and time again, no sex before marriage. I must say, it is the most annoying thing in the world to have her think I don’t share the same beliefs. Whenever I go out with a guy friend (not even a boyfriend, REALLY MOM. Friends can be different genders.) “Make sure you don’t do anything stupid!” I can see why some kids would do stupid things just to go against their parents. I’ve pondered what would happen if I told her I was a lesbian or bisexual. Would she be paranoid about letting me hang out with girls? Not want me to have female roommates? Feh.

On the other hand, my mom suspects that my older brother has gone against her advice. She hasn’t disowned him.

^my moms like that too, she’s says “no sex before marriage” and thinks I don’t share the same views as her and it’s really annoying even when I tell her that I plan on waiting she says “You’re a man, and all men are b-words (actually says the word) who want to just use women for sex and then move on to the next one”, lol it hurts so much when she says stuff like that since I don’t see women that way at all and I’ve always been respectful. Sigh Sometimes I think some Asian parents just don’t put as much faith into their kids as they should and let their kids make their own decisions. But that’s just my opinion.

Sigh she wouldn’t even let me go out with friends of mine who happened to be girls because she thinks I’m going to do it with them or something. AGH Asian parents!!! lol…
