Does this seem like an interesting hobby?

<p>I’m really into Urban architecture, culture, demographics, freeways, etc. I’m even a member a forum for these issues (urbanplanet.org). I remember the interstate highway system like the back of my hand, actually construct models of skyscrapers and freeway designs, make lists of “best skylines in the US”, 20 largest metropolitan areas, areas with most urban sprawl… I think you get the point. I’m really into this stuff, and I have yet to find anyone else (on here or in person) that shares this interest. Does this at all sound interesting if crafted into a well written essay?</p>

<p>OMG. Like, where I live (Atlanta) is PERFECT to study urban sprawl and highways. We sprawl over 28 counties, 13 of which are considered urban by census standards, have freeways with up to 18 lanes (in Cobb County, a suburb of ATL, the entire 75 freeway will be no less than 20 lanes and no more than 28 by 2015), we have “modern traffic monitering devices”… it’s perfect!</p>

<p>Boston would be such an awesome place to continue my studies. It’s so dense, has great rail, the results of the “Big Dig” project I’d definitely love to see…</p>

<p>I’ve heard of them, but I don’t know what they are, really. Those freeways sound intense. I love going over nice bridges and those highways that turn on different levels, and you can see all the cars on the other freeways below you and stuff. Oh, and some of those car commercials have really nice highways.</p>

<p>It is fascinating. Especially alot of sunbelt cities. In the North, cities have central downtown cores whereas some Southern and some Western cities (namely Los Angeles and Atlanta) have sprawled out so much that they have no true “core.” They have several suburban cores surrounding an anchor city which serves no more a purpose than naming the metropolitan area(and it’s even lost that purpose because the census puts in those suburban cores to the name).</p>

<p>Examples:
Los Angeles in now “Los Angeles-Santa Ana-Long Beach”
Atlanta is now “Atlanta-Marietta-Sandy Springs”</p>

<p>Well, Spaghetti junction is an interchange of a few freeways (two main ones are I-285 and I-85, along with a few state ones into Gwinnett). It basically looks like, well, Spaghetti. Here’s some links to pics:</p>
