Does UCD prepare you for a job?

Sorry buddy, Ive said it a few times, Cal Poly and UCSB were my top choices. Now dont milk old betsy too hard there feller. LOLZ

I see you are a classic high schooler that is SO happy you got in to SLO that you spend your winter break ■■■■■■■■ other schools’ forums. It is fine that you like SLO, but seriously… phrases like “Whatever, LOLZ” “SLO>Davis” “LOLZ” …etc are immature.

The thread asked a fairly rhetorical question… “Does UCD prepare you for a job” The answer would be yes. Gee, a top university prepares you for a job. You did not add any “I’ve been there, done that” evidence. You picked out the “Csu= hands on, UC = only taught by TAs” or “Your school smells like poo” quotes, which are not true. I’ve been there and it does not smell like cow poo, and I go to a UC and my classes are not taught by TAs. And for some reason, you really really like UCSB, which again, does not add anything to the OP’s original question.

Please work on your social skills, or you might find yourself being one of the three percent who are unemployed after the first year as a SLO graduate.

Ok everyone, let’s relax a little. I graduated from Cal Poly and got a good job very quickly after graduation. I also got into Davis and I’m sure I would have gotten a good job quickly there as well. In fact, all of my friends who went to either school have good jobs now and are excelling.

As Cali Trumpet said, “a top university prepares you for a job.” Either one will be great, I’m sure. I happened to like Cal Poly a little better when I was choosing, but I’m sure I would have been very happy at Davis, too. :)

“LOLZ… I was addressing the comments that were made towards me. And if you look at the topic of the thread, he is considering Cal Poly as well as UCD. I never commented on UCD odor, although we can predict it smells like feces. roflmao lolz”

To be honest, right now I’m not wondering which school better. I’m just wondering how any school accepted you at all.

“Well you made the wrong decision fooshy”

At least I made a decision, one I feel was the right one. You had your decision made for you by Cal Poly SLO’s early decision committee. I’m getting an excellent education that has prepared me for excellent graduate schools.

“Have fun with cows and sacremento for the next 4-5 years.”

Actually, I have 5 quarters left, so about a year and a half. I have loved UC Davis over the past several years, and the faculty in my department has been nothing short of amazing.

If you are going to question fooshy for hanging around college confidential during Winter Break, you better question all the HYPOS students as well. They must not like their school either. Don’t forget the SLO students.

Yeah I guess your right… It just seems like Fooshy spends a lot of time on this site.

Im done with this site tho. How do you delete your profile?

Thank god you’re leaving now. If you were going to cause any more trouble I would’ve posted your horrid stats since you posted my rejection.

… My horrid stats?
3.75 GPA
1810 SAT (December Scores)
600hrs Community Service

I think my stats are not terrible. They might not be the best, but I am not ashamed of them. I think you are extremely arrogant considering the fact that you got denied from a pretty easy school. I dont expect to be admitted anywhere, but I dont think my stats are so low that I have no chance at admission.

How would you feel if I got admitted UCSB, when you were denied? Would that make my stats more favorable than yours? We’ll see in March!

No actually it wouldn’t…

Did you play sports or were you working too hard for the 3.75?

Oh yeah OOP, it takes a lot of time to check if you’ve posted anything idiotic and post my 15 second response. I probably spend no more than 15 minutes a week on College Confidential.

As to why you consider it so time-consuming to post on a forum (yes, forum, not blog), I have no idea, but maybe you should hone in on your typing skills. (…or maybe it’s just your brain that’s not functioning properly-- I’ll place my money on the latter).

Oop, your stats are actually actually not impressive. That’s not really good enough to make it into UCD or UCSB (unless you go to a very very uncompetitive school). The only reason I could see you getting into Cal Poly is because you applied for any major that it ISN’T notorious for. Meaning, I know you didn’t apply for any of the ones you tossed out above. So I hope you enjoy your impacted Forestry major.

And trust me, Cal Poly can get old. All of my friends that go there now hate it (except one… it was actually the only school she got into and she parties all the time… so I guess there’s that). Cause I mean, let’s think about it, if everyone going there was as stupid as you, then it’d have to be pretty square.

Oh yeah, btw, Cal Poly ISN’T ranked.

LOLZ

why dont we think about the fact that UCD turned away over 1200 applicants with 4.0’s last year. and it was much more like 50% admission last year.
if you were going for engineering at ucd, you’d definitely be screwed tho.
oop, ur stats are the same as his, so lay off. ur just defensive bc u feel inferior on this site full of ppl that love academia and have the time management skills to do everything and still be as social as they want to be.

nvm
20 char 20 char 20 char

Oop, he never said his stats were impressive, he said yours aren’t. You see, he’s come to terms that his stats aren’t the best, but he’s respectful and can at least admit that to himself. You have the same statistics (you’d be placed in basically the same category as him), and yet you think you’re better than everyone in the world.

I’ve met people like you at UCD my freshman year in the dorms (they think they’re the best in the world with an average GPA). They flunked out after 2 quarters.

I actually did get into Cal Poly! Lolz. And Irvine! Lolz I WILL admit that I had to get into SB on appeal though! Lolz

And my stats are actually a little different, so you should take that into account  (because I’m Asian right?) I was the only kid at my school to have less than a 4.0 to get into a Mid-tier ranked UC, that’s not to be cocky, but that just goes to show how much numbers don’t mean everything.

The only reason I could see you making it into Cal Poly is because they don’t see how unintelligent you are through an essay.

AND I have much better extra curricular than you, so GG. I hope you like going to community college. But I guess, what can I expect from someone who puts, “LOLZ, I LIKE SURFING” as one of his talents. The only hardship I can see that you’ve gotten through was actually learning how to type after you were dropped on your head.

BTW, it’s YOUR is YOUR. YOU’RE IS YOU ARE. Get it right dunce.

We hate tools.

“Why is everyone fighting?”

Perhaps you didn’t realize that we were upset that this guy was spreading false information on the UC Davis forums, without citing any of it. So the reason everyone is fighting is to bring attention to the fact that this user was lying on the forums, and misleading students. (Not to mention he was personally attacking users who pointed out that he was spreading false information).

That’s not immature-- it’s being responsible.

Keep in mind some of the posts are out of context considering the moderators deleted several of OOP’s posts (like the one telling one of the users to jump off a cliff).

To clear up any confusion about college rankings in engineering

[Top Ranked Engineering Colleges/Universities, Best Colleges Engineering](http://www.graduateshotline.com/ranks/)

Yes, but there is a reason schools that offer doctorates aren’t ranked on the same scale as schools that don’t-- my understanding is that if you go to a CS program where the school also offers doctorates, you have more resources, more qualified instructors, and more research opportunities.

Comparing SLO and UCD is like comparing apples and oranges, they offer different programs with different opportunities.
