so say a student got 3.5 gpa but he has like 3-4 ap classes and another has 4.0 but he has no ap
will the collages just accept the one with higher gpa if everything else is the same?
College admission officers know the difference between an unweighted GPA and an weighted GPA. They can see your high school transcript, and thus they will know who took the more difficult courses and who didn’t. IMO the student with the 3.5 in your scenario is a better student than the other student.
Would just add that all colleges use the unweighted GPA and then interpret it with their assessment of the rigor of your schedule as compared to that available at your high school. The weighted GPA that some high schools calculate is irrelevant to colleges.
