Does your school have the letter grade 'E' or 'F'?

Lol @ inveniamviam

E in our International Examinations…

F in the classroom.

F’s for us. I didn’t realize anyone actually used E’s.

As I just realized, what is really the point? The kids who are getting Fs don’t care about their pathetic performance in school anyways, so it doesn’t really damage their self-esteem. Only kids who are trying to do well but get Fs could be plausibly affected by the letter itself, but this demographic doesn’t exist because high school classes are too easy for that to happen. Consequently, I think any school administration doing so is overreacting to the threat of lawsuit, rather than acting out of a true concern for the mental state of their kids.

E’s exist?!? I thought they were just a myth… ;)

I’ve got to say that this thread has proved to be incredibly eye-opening…I didn’t even know that there was another option. I know my school does the whole F thing, and I think some people at my school get Fs. Somehow none of my friends do…

We just Asian fail :(

We’ve got A B C D E, and we actually refer to Es as Es. It felt weird changing from the A B C D F system of middle school, but now we don’t think anything of it.

I go to a “normal” school.

A, B, C, D, F.

I’d laugh if my school used E’s for self-esteem. I don’t think my school cares about the students in it to begin with. I have one teacher I know for sure cares about the students and their needs, but I can’t name any others. Although, I must admit I think the E system is stupid. I hate the self esteem crap that they try to enforce. Let the students cry. Builds character.

my school has A, B, C, D, and F. We have +/- for B, C, and D (not F), and only A and A-, no A+.
