Doesn't time seem so short and valuable now?

Back when I was in middle school I played everyday and I thought I had all the time in the world. Now, it is completely different. I have so many things to do and I don’t have enough time to do them all…

How long does it take you guys to study and do school work? For me, it takes over 7 hours everyday… I don’t know why but everytime I work on something it takes me at least 2-3 hours. For example, when I study for my APs, it takes at least 3 hours for me to feel satisfied that I’ve done some work. Some homework problems in AP Physics take me and hour to figure out, it is crazy. Mabye I just don’t have this type of acumen when it comes to academics but my outcomes are great… I get 5’s on AP exams and 90-100’s in school. Who else the same experience as me?

I just timed myself reading + doing the log for a chapter (16 pages) and it took me roughly 2 hours. Geez… However, I thought about it a whole lot and wrote not too little and whatnot. Am I just doing too much work or what? Most of my friends write a couple sentences and they get 90-100’s (but bad on tests) but still end up with a B/A. Is putting all of this time/effort good or should I lower it a bit? With 5 more AP classes this year, I don’t know how I will handle it…

How much time/effort does it take ** YOU** to do your studies/homework? HOW do you produce your outcome? Please share your “secrets” with all of us who can’t see the light. Thanks guys! :)

Bump, anyone have the same feelings? :(

Only sometimes. lol.

Hah, I feel the same way. If anyone could offer a solution, don’t hesitate. Please!

time seems short and valuable now because I only have a couple weeks left at home… but it’s definitely not school work related.

It feels short and valuable to me…but I don’t spend 7 hours doing work outside of school. I tend to take longer, in my opinion, than some others, but usually not a few hours.

7 sounds like too much. but it seems worth it for you because you are obviously grasping the material - probably more than I would in your shoes because I put in less effort

I thought you meant about summer…but I feel all my time is valuable  hah  you shouldn’t stress so much. I usually work a lot, but I have music on, and do a ton of stuff and don’t do much during actual school. 7 hours seems unhealthy to me-you should try lightening the load, and seeing how well you do. Am I saying to blow a final? No…maybe just study a little less for a quiz, and see how you do. Then a test. If you get 3 hours of your life for a measly 1 point, you can decide then which is more valuable.

I have school, cross country/track, then work until like 11. How do I do keep my good grades, do great in my sport and still have time to work?

well…lol, time management is key, obviously. I try to mix things up…
In school I do my homework at the end of class cause theres always like 30min of “do nothing” time. I get out like 2hrs earlier on some days so i do homework then too. I have practice from 4-6, so thats 2 hrs completely deticated to running. from 7-11 is work. Theres alot of downtime at work, so i usually just study there too.
I got home, shower, eat and go to bed.

on the weekends i just chill with friends, or if i have a meet ill do that…if not even that im probably working.

Its all good though, im pretty content with this lifestyle, though many people would disagree

I don’t generally feel like that, but right now I do.

Precious summer is melting away…

And here I am on CC

I think that it’s important to know how to manage time without compromising the quality of your work. It’s about being meticulous when you have time and learning how to finish things up quickly.

I love the word- ‘‘Meticulous’’

I have the same feelings you have.

haha SDMS12, the only problem with it is that every time I use it I think of Nelly Furtado’s line in Timbaland’s “Give it to Me”.

“My style is meticulous-culous-ulous”

my my where has the time gone by…?

time is flying

I’m exactly the opposite of the OP. I never do homework until the morning or lunch or the period before they are due. I barely ever study, yet I manage to always pull off fairly decent grades. Basically, I’m the laziest over-achiever you will ever meet, and I always get away with it. Hopefully, I’'ll be able to change my habits this year (yeah, right.)

I can’t wait to go to college, stop being dependant on my family, start a life entirely my own. Time is what stands between me and this fate.

who’s not looking forward to school?
