Experienced pro-tip: When breaking up a vicious fight between two large dogs, wear gloves.
I could be having the worst day, but if a car goes by with a happy dog hanging out the window, basking in the rushing air, I can’t help buy smile.
Life would be much easier if happiness was purely a function of proximity to friends, a brisk breeze or a fuzzy ball. Dogs are there to constantly remind us of this possibility.
I just saw this thread today, and I was going to post about my kids’ two wonderful dogs. My S and partner just adopted a wonderful rescue that we already adore. No idea what she is, sort of a small, whippet-thin pit mix, all black except a white tummy and paws. Had a traumatic start, rescued from streets in Texas in bad health as a pup, but has landed in the right home and developing wonderfully.
But just this evening, found out my daughter’s family’s good boy, a wonderful pit they’ve had for over ten years and loved beyond measure by his “puppies” (GD6 and GS4), has an aggressive terminal cancer. So sad for the family. We’ve dogsat him many times and he is just the best when he is not destroying everything and barking his head off. Known as “The best worst dog” by his people. Full of love. I can’t stop crying thinking about how sad this is going to be.
If that were a cat it would be biting YOUR toes, not realizing they were attached to YOU.
The world’s tallest and shortest dogs had a play date.
Love those eyes!
I’m thinking there’s peanut butter on the other end of that spoon ![]()
Every morning. we spoon a little peanut butter onto a Ritz cracker to place her allergy meds on. She gets to clean up the spoon afterwards.
Awww… what a beautiful GSD! ![]()
