I feel like im doomed to failure. I go to a small rural high school 40 miles outside of Ithaca New York (Sophomore). My guidance counselor gives me no practical and/or useful advice and is mainly focused on shoving me and the rest of the student body into community college or the Suny System. Suny and community colleges arent necessarily bad but arent a good launching pad for the future I want. My school offers only two AP programs on campus, which are APUSH and AP Bio. I took integrated math this year instead of Math 2 because I am extremely weak at math and thought I needed more preparation. However I need math 2 for Regents with Advanced Designation, which is what I will need to get into the college of my choice, which is Cornell. My choices next year are very limited in terms of what classes I can take as well. Im thinking about taking a ton of AP courses online through my school to boost my average and make me a better candidate is this advisable (there easy and not challenging)? I am also very weak at Spanish and intend to drop it once I pass the Regents. I am very strong in both English (not that youd be able to tell from this rant) and global and score in the 98th percentile on all practice regents/standerdized tests. I also volunteer a lot and am in every club from International to student council. I also play varsity golf and track. Investments are my passion and my portfolio is top notch. I am dyslexic but it only affects my mathematical and foreign language abilities. My mom also works at Cornell. I am absolutely lost I want to get into Cornell and work in finance but im absolutely lost and no one seems to be able to help me. What can I do?

get a job at a carwash

Read Sun-tzu, The Art of War. Every battle is won before it is ever fought.

You’re in EVERY club? Seriously? How do you even physically pull that off?

lol my high schools tiny = its not exactly hard to be in every club. Im in Peer Mediation, Student Council, International CLub, Drama Club, Stock Club, and im probably forgeting one.

^^

If you are forgetting some clubs you are in, then they are probably not worth mentioning on your college apps. ;-)

RIO is a great stock to flip for easy gains

You should look into it =)

DPDW is an otcbb stock with HUGE potential

^ really ?

I looked at Rio and Rio Tinto before but sold off my positions, which had risen signifigently, because I figured that US economic troubles would spread to developing markets (China,India, and Brazil) and slow down the comodities rush. With a Pe of 15 RIO does look very appealing though. DPDW.OB is also very interesting, im going to do some more research into and may take a position. It looks like a smaller version of transocean. Thanks alot.
