Downloading Adobe on MBP 13

Sooo, I was able to get my hands on the Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium CS5.5 for cheap so I’m trying to download this onto my new MBP 13", but it says it’s going to take about 7 hours…is this normal?

If you’re downloading from the internet, yes it might take 7 hours. It depends on your internet speed. For example it takes me 3 hrs to download a movie whereas my friend takes 1 hr on his internet. The Adobe suite is a very big program btw.

Just leave your computer on when you sleep.

ah, thanks. So, the amount of time it takes to download the suite isn’t dependent on what kind of a MBP I have? I have the lowest priced 13", btw. And yes, I am downloading from the internet.

No, downloading time does not depend on the computer unless you have a really CRAPPY computer which you dont…

aStyle, I don’t know if you have a mac, but how come my firefox icon looks like a a piece of paper with a pencil, brush and a ruler with a circle with a line across it? If I drag it to my dock, it looks like the normal firefox icon but within the applications folder, it looks weird. This is bugging me, and I don’t know why.

It looks that way when you first install it. Try starting it from inside the Applications folder, that may get rid of the generic new app icon. It usually works for me.
