George Crawley is her son by Matthew Crawley, born in the 2012 Christmas episode. Caroline is her daughter by Henry. The pregnancy was revealed in the 2015 Christmas episode and Caroline was born between that time and the movie.
I saw the movie yesterday. About 5 minutes in I realized that when watching the series at home, I used closed captioning. I had to work double hard to pick up all the dialogue without it. ?
Saw the movie yesterday. Loved it.
I was happy to spend time seeing old friends. It didn’t bother me in the slightest that I guessed the three major plot twists right away: the one with the king’s valet, the one with the maid and the one with Tom.
The movie leaves a lot of potential story lines…fingers crossed!
I loved it.
@FlyMeToTheMoon , I use a minitek with my hearing aids when watching TV. I had a tough time, too.
I finally saw the movie today, and as my friend said, every time a character came on screen, it was like seeing an old friend. And the costumes and cinematography are so much more intense on the big screen!
Is the Lascelles any relation to the Tommy Lascelles mentioned in The Crown?
Yes. First cousins. Their fathers were brothers who were themselves the sons of Henry Lascelles, 4th Earl of Harewood,
@skieurope Do you have a Burke’s app on your phone, or do you actually know this stuff?
Sad to say, I actually know that stuff.
DH and I saw the movie on Wednesday. It was a 1:15 pm matinee and there was only one other couple there. Loved, loved, loved it. It was like catching up with old friends. I don’t think I realized just how much I had missed them all. I got a chill when the opening music came on.
We were on a Viking ocean cruise this past spring. They had the entire series on demand. I did watch the final episode in preparaton for the movie coming out.
I heard that they were going to do a new movie. I hope so. The large estates in England must be thrilled when one is used as a setting.
Yes, the opening scenes. I loved the drone shots on the big screen.
But I’m not voting for aother sequel. We watched Upstairs Downstairs when it was original and as time passed, they struggled for storyline, everything became heavier, more forced.
What I’d love is more of the years the series and movie showed, like the ‘missing chapters.’ But I don’t see that happening.
I saw the movie today after watching all episodes on Amazon Prime over the last several weeks. I hope there is a sequel!
We went yesterday. Loved it. I thought they handled the Barrows story line well. I did immediately know that Jane was her daughter. And I had forgotten that Carson had retired.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
