The final Masterpiece podcast for Downton features Laura Carmichael’s reflections on 6 seasons of Lady Edith. I feel so cheated that someone only got the wonderful idea to have a follow up podcast each Monday for season 6. I feel cheated from this delightful weekly treat for seasons 1-5.

@conmama - That she is. In fact, I’m surprised she didn’t drop Henry like a bad habit and make a big play for Bertie the second she found out he was a marquess. “Grubby little gold-digger” … well, if the shoe fits …
Came across this tidbit while reading articles about the finale—Lady Edith and Andy the footman/pig farner are a couple in real life!
I’m having withdrawal. What will I do with myself tonight?
LOL, I don’t think so. Mary doesn’t need to outrank Edith in Burkes peerage; she’s got Downton. Besides, as far as she’s concerned, Edith will always be Edith. She’ll never feel that she’s “less than”.
Does anyone think that Violet, duchess of Grantham is intimidated by anyone? Mary is cut from the same cloth.
I watched the show again. Now, onto the podcasts.
Lucky man. Sorry Daisy!
How Fans of ‘Downton Abbey’ Can Fill the Void
Feeling an acute sense of Dowager Countess withdrawal? Several shows (some British and some not) could help.

H was at an antique mall and bought the entire Six Wives of Henry XIII on video for a quarter and yes, we still have a VCR. We watched the saga of Catherine Howard last night.
Not like Downton, but that was my first exposure to both Masterpiece Theater and British history back in the day and started a lifelong passion for each.
I enjoyed the Snow Queen and The Other Boleyn Sister. They are filming a third, which takes place in the middle.m

Mrs. Patmore actress Lesley Nicol in ABC’s The Catch.
Great! Thanks!
read online there is most likely going to be a movie!!
The next big European-produced costume drama TV series coming your way: Versailles.
It cost twice as much to produce as Downton Abbey.

I already binge-watched all of Season 1 on Netflux. Juicy!
@gmtplus7 - wow, thanks for the tip! I’ll be sure to watch asap.
I enjoy genealogy and watch some of the shows. One of them featured Jim Parsons, the actor from Big Bang Theory. He knew one part of family ended up in Louisiana and was probably French. It turned out that he is a direct descendant of the architect of Versailles’ royal chapel.
Actor Jim Carter, Carson, is dropping hints in the Daily Mail about the movie. The cast has been told to ‘keep themselves available’ for filming.
Here’s hoping. With such a huge audience, I don’t know why the series ended in the first place.
I finally watched Dr. Thorn (Julian Fellowe’s mini-series after Dowton Abbey). I loved it so much! Even better than DA in my opinion.
Anyone watching Michelle Dockery in “Good Behavior”? She’s doing an amazing job - not a hint of Lady Mary in her.
