Dream car!

hello good ol’ parents. Name your dream car!

ex. rolls royce phantom, toyota carolla

I want a Bentley convertible!!

An old 50s/early 60s Corvette, a Ferrari California, a 1969 Shelby Mustang convertible, Jay Leno’s car collection (the latter would probably keep me busy for a while).

I loved my Corolla! It had crank windows, no AC (<10 years ago) and my kids called it the Cheesemobile after I broke a glass bottle of milk in it. (We never could get the smell out.) My dream car (which I own) is a red '74 Karmann Ghia convertible.

A bicycle and a town with flat roads and big sidewalks I could bike to everywhere in.

Would love a solar/hybrid car that would be safe enough to ride in case of a collision with a SUV or similar and have back-up energy to work when there is no sun.

Would also love dedicated bike lanes far from traffic so that I could bike safely around town without fearing for my life and limbs. It’s unfortunately way too dangerous to bike in our town, even tho it’s relatively flat, motorists are EXTREMELY aggressive and the public is not kind to any type of cyclist.

A NYC subway car - which would mean I owned an apartment in Manhattan. ;)

the Paris Metro
I have a car I LOVE, but I would rather not be driving OR owning it.

Remember that Mercedes convertible in Heart to Heart?

Either a BMW M3 or a Mercedes S55 AMG.

Both inspired by the cars in Twilight.

I want the new Tesla 4 door sedan!

My taste is very modest - I see a shiny new blue and silver Subaru Impreza around the neighborhood that I am coveting; but I still have a few years left in my 2001 outback.

You declined to state your dream car. What is it?

Actually I greatly enjoy driving around in my old 66 Mustang convertible.

Just for fun, I would love to have a Volkswagen Eos with a stick shift.

uc dad, We looked at a 60’s Mustang convertible when we bought our first Ghia. It was a sweet car, but we had to pick one. We were living in SoCal at the time.

^^ Yeah - I can keep the top down for most of the year here which is nice. You’re right - there are so many nice and fun cars to have, and they don’t need to be expensive, but most of us need to limit the numbers…which take sus back to Leno’s collection.

I keep the top down all year, but the ghia spends most of it in he garage. We live in Subaru country now.

I’m 18. I have the same thread in the high school section to see how parents differ from kids in what car they want. Majority of parents want something old school from the 60s - 80s and the majority of high schoolers want something shiny and sleek to play with. Interesting stuff haha. Me…I’d probably stick with the shiny toys my peers want.

Probably bugatti. I saw one in real life and it looks kind of cool besides the $1M price tag.

misterpop:
That’s fine but maybe 20 or 30 years from now you’ll be pining for that old classic 2009 WRX, Civic, or something similar. I think we all tend to like some of the cars from our HS days. It’s reflected in the prices of ‘classic cars’ as well.

You still didn’t say what exact cars you’d like to have. Come on - fess up.
