Dress people, MOB help???

EC, the dress is already in my possession (from the Nordstrom waitlist service) ;-)

After conferring with my daughter, both are still in contention.
Will re-evaluate fits in a few weeks.

I am doing the MOB dress thing as well. I currently feel like Goldilocks: I have one dress, which I love, that is currently (probably) a bit too snug and another, one size up, that is considerably too big. I can alter the second to fit, though, and am working on loosing weight so hopefully the first will work out. I think it’s my favorite.

If you are interested, here are the dresses:

The first one (my favorite) is in a deep cranberry color, not the navy shown here.

The second one (the one that is too big) is this color: a muted teal.

We will see which one works out!

^ I love the teal color of the Nordstrom dress, as well as its gracious and flowing lines. So pretty, and I just noticed the lovely lace back!

When is the wedding, cmm?
I like the idea of cranberry for fall/winter.

I have decided to wear the JKara and returned the other dress.
I would like to get a less snug fit at the hips (of my pear shape) so I am working with a personal trainer.

^ Great, mominva! Lovely color for fall. My D (marrying in late September – just over a month away!) is having purple as her wedding color.

Post-mortem from S1’s wedding – am SO happy I went with the dress I chose. It was comfortable, didn’t require last-minute dieting and it was the perfect color for me. My #2 was a lot more showy (not to mention very snug in the next size UP from the dress I actually wore!). It was also very easy for me to change into my dress at the venue after we got tables and decorations set up. Never did get to do my nails!

Mominva, DD’s wedding is this coming March. The cranberry color is one of the accent colors she is using, so I am really drawn to that dress. The teal color would look good I think as well, though. So i will show DD and see what she thinks…

update/suggestions from JEM:

Closing in on D’s wedding date, but want to mention a couple of ideas that others might find helpful:

1) After seeing some wedding pics from another family, I noticed some yellowed teeth in the older generation. My teeth are in pretty good shape (go to the dentist regularly for cleanings, etc.) but could use whitening. Got one of the higher level kits to do it at home over 20 days.

2) Saw a mention is a magazine in a waiting room of “SpareSoles” which are ballet flats that come folded up in a little packet, can be kept in a small purse, and can be changed into when high heels are too tiring. I have had to take my shoes off at other weddings and these will now be my solution. They come in various colors, including silver (color of my MOB shoes). They even have special dressy ballet flats for the bride! D will be wearing 3-inch heels so I sent the link to her. (SpareSoles with a .com at the end).

Hope these suggestions are helpful to me and others.

Any other pointers from those who have been through this?
