Dressing Young 2025

You know what I’m tired of seeing? Midi dresses and short dresses. I’ve been looking for pretty dresses to vacation in that hit above the knee an inch or two. I think those look great with sandals. I’m not a fan of midi dresses with flats or sneakers.

I’ve just about given up finding super cute dresses on that length and may have to start buying the midi’s and having them hemmed. I feel like this is a forgotten length!

I love midi and short dresses with flat sandals and white leather sneakers. Those are my go to vacation dresses!

You wear mini dresses? I need to cover my thighs.

This company has cute above the knee dresses, are these too short?

I like dresses around knee length—slightly above or below is fine. I don’t wear midi nor mini either. I tend to buy at Ross or Nordstrom Rack and only when encounter something that needs my limited preferences. I only wear slacks when traveling, otherwise tend to get too cold.

I hate dresses that are too short, but thankfully being an average height, many short for a 5’ 10” person dresses hit me just about mid- to above the knee. @conmama you are a few inches taller than me… I feel your pain.

I bought this one recently and can’t wait to wear it!

Very cute! Have you tried any of their dresses?

Yes! I have one of the island fringe dresses and it hits me just above my knees, I’m 5’4”.

Thanks!

Super cute! They don’t add the length!

Thanks! I actually don’t wear a-line sheaths well. I like the midi styles better, just not the length. I like dresses tyst have a waist.

I also prefer dresses with a defined waist and like soft, drapey knits. That is very cute though.

A mini for me is an inch or two above the knees :joy:

This is so cute! This is what I call a “mini” dress for me.

I’m looking for a new swimsuit (ugh!) and I want something that is cute but better than average quality with good support. My better support suits have usually come from Macy’s (like Michael Kors), but I do have an occasional Target separate and have bought from Cupshe (they’re ok but not great support). I’ve been seeing ads for Boden for the last year and some of their sweaters and dresses are so pretty, but haven’t wanted to spend that much. However, now I’m considering a swimsuit from them because they’re so pretty and seem like good quality. This is one of the ones I’m looking at, but wondering if any of you have other suggestions that have worked for you?

@elena13 - I have not purchased anything from Boden, but get served a lot of adds for them on Instagram. That is a gorgeous swimsuit and looks like something I would buy for myself. I love the dark color and the embroidery.

Yes, it does seem like that length is harder to find these days. I either want a maxi dress or one a couple of inches above the knee. I feel like in-between is not flattering on me.

I bought this one last year, needed the long torso. It is good quality but I rarely wear it bc one piece bathroom hassle…

Have you checked the sale section? Random sizes but some great prices.

I bought several swimsuits from HerRoom during the pandemic - first time I ever bought without trying on. I’m a large busted woman so support is very important. The good part is that several of the lines come in bra sizes. My favorite brand was Fantasie I’ve also been happy with Tommy Bahama suits.

All of my swimsuits are from HerRoom! My favorite brand is Prima Donna. The tops are bra sized, so I go for my usual size and have not been disappointed yet!

Speaking of Boden, I buy their clothes (Mini Boden) for the grands. So well made!
