I never ditched my skinny jeans when they were supposedly “out,” but I am happy to add high waisted wide leg jeans to my wardrobe.
Another “no” to the barrel jeans. @kelsmom, I have some similar to the wide leg ones you posted, and I like them. I am fine with skinny or boyfriend or bootcut or flare, but no the barrel, and no to the ones that are really wide from the thighs on down.
When I went to look at the denim dress the first time, there was a medium available. I just went to look at it again, and it’s gone. I wonder if someone who reads this thread went and bought it!
That’s a personal opinion. Apparently many women like the way they look and the way they look in them. No need to bash someone else’s taste.
Ok if it’s not for you! The industry is pleasing some people at least for now! Plenty of styles come and go.
I’m not much into trends. But… I do wish the jeans I’m wearing today didn’t have the pocket embellishment. I otherwise like the look and fit, and I wear them mostly at home of with long shirts. I’m pretty sure I got them at thrift shop for just a few dollars. Last week I got rid of a different pair of thrift shop jeans (plain pockets) that was a less suitable style. And hey… someday pocket embellishments will make a comeback.
@conmama beautiful coat! Very much a statement piece. Love the way it flares from the waist and is very flattering on you.
I ordered these jeans. Something about them called my name!

We will see how they fit. It really has to call me for me to order jeans at full price. They may look terrible
I like those jeans! I’m all about a big cuff these days. Looks so cute with maryjane flats.
Body type has a lot to do with what we like in terms of clothing. What looks good on me might not look good on someone else & vice versa. And then there are clothes that fit me, but the image in my mirror makes me laugh. I won’t wear certain types of dresses because they just look goofy on me, but they look great on someone else. It’s all about finding what we feel is flattering for us.
This is very true! There are so many cute styles on people that I can’t wear. I had to unfollow an influencer because she just looked too dang cute, but I couldn’t wear the stuff and had to send things back.
I’ll try to remember her name. Her clothing looked great on people her height, about 5’4”.
Found it: Hi Sugarplum
Added: I never ditched my skinnies, either…although I don’t wear them much. It’s just when I have a really cool pair of booties I want to show. They are great for that. And I wore black skinnies the whole time we toured in London. I think they look sleeker with walking shoes and sneakers.
I do find my favorite pair of jeans to wear are the express high waisted flared split hem from a year ago. They are longer so need a heel. But I feel skinny and chic in them. I also can’t be feeling fat when I wear them as they are a snug fit.
My kids tell me I’m on ‘coat restriction’ no more buying coats (LOVE them).
I love jackets and coats but don’t buy any more because we really don’t need them except for travel. For local use, generally a hoodie is plenty. It is so true that we all look different in different outfits. I definitely can’t wear certain styles, they either look odd or make me feel ridiculous. I’m fine with folks wearing whatever they prefer and never say anything if I can’t say anything nice—can usually come up with something—nice color or nice fabric.
Walked into Costco, of all places, and was immediately drawn to the display of danskin half-zips. The style has been all over my social media feed recently, so I was sucked in. I bought one in lavender…which is a big departure from my usual repertoire of neutrals. Buying it is one thing, actually wearing it will be another. The price was right, so if it sits in my drawer forever I won’t feel too bad.

I’ve purchased a number of tops at Costco, as well as some shorts & a pair of capri pants. They have some good buys, although the best stuff goes quickly.
That’s the Lululemon dupe, right??
I saw those half zip and considered buying it. None of the colors worked for my skin tone.
same here… boo.
@conmama …if you ever get bored with the jacket, you could always re-sell it – to ME! Gorgeous. What brand is it?
Lol! You mean my coat? I think it’s a brand called Lovemarks frosty color.
One thing I wish would come back in style are statement necklaces. I’ve never been a fan of dainty jewelry. I do wear slight statement necklaces and also the dainty ones (those are good with statement earrings).
Anyway, I’ve been watching Younger on Netflix and laughing at the lady boss’ necklaces. How they trying to make her look older, compared to the dainty stuff on the young staff. Some of them are even laugh worthy to me!
@conmama - I am actually the opposite. Never wore “ statement necklaces” or any other statement jewelry - they just are not me. I wear a very thin gold chain which I love.
