I do, little more faded, material is bit thick, stretch but might run a little small. 5’6” and shrinking, bought a Short and they fit cropped.
eta, I don’t think they look as ‘crisp’ irl

I play pickleball 3x a week, and in the winter I wear leggings every time I play, and if I’m running to the store or whatever I wear them there too. I wear them around the house, and other kinds of exercise too, so I have them on most days, but not all day. I am no fashionista these days, but I’ve never felt like I could make leggings an “outfit” or whatever, if that makes any sense? I don’t wear them under dresses. I do have some wide at the bottom leggings I have worn “out” (meaning not exercising and then running an errand). I see joggers and leggings as pretty similar, although I probably wear joggers around the house more, and leggings when I’m really exercising.
I would wear jeans or other casual pants going out to lunch or dinner.
So after that short survey of the last few hours most here indicate that leggings and related joggers are more for home, exercise and very casual “in public” experiences - but not for restaurants, sight seeing, other public facing functions that are not utilitarian- so maybe those French and European women are doing the same? Saving their Lululemon for home, hiking, a quick market trip etc??
I mean, I didn’t want to poke a hornet’s nest on the Dressing Young thread of all places, but for the younger set leggings are out. I’m guessing that’s why those fashion-forward European women aren’t wearing them.
I’ve also read that for the younger set leggings are out. I am still seeing a lot of younger women in leggings or the tight legging like shorts with a cropped t shirt. Most are probably coming or going to the gym.
I love that I can go to Pilates, throw on a longer sweater or denim shirt and put on a pair of boots and go out to lunch or dinner. I’m not giving up my leggings!
I just have to say… leggings and especially Lulu Lemon joggers are what got me through COVID.
Ooh I love that dress! So pretty. I have thought about getting some of their other versions of the Somerset dress, but it usually seemed like too much fabric for me. However, that one seems great because of the velvet fabric. ![]()
I love “the look” of the Somerset dress, but when I try it on I feel like it’s just too much dress for me, like @elena13.
I see tons of leggings out. My daughter wears leggings all the time when she’s not working.
As a woman of a certain age, I’m no longer wearing leggings as I once did. Mostly because now leggings are worn with a short shirt and not with a tunic. I’m not comfortable showing a behind out and about.
Saying that, once there’s snow on the ground, I’ll probably wear leggings more because they are good with snow boots and a longer down coat.
Right now, when I’m working out, I’m in joggers. When I’m out casually, I’m in wide leg stretchy pants.
I haven’t been to Europe in 2 years. When I was there, I thought people were more dressy than here. Especially in my small town very casual town.
Athleisure wear just doesn’t seem to be a thing over here.
Regular pants, jeans, skirts seem to do it.
Tights - sheerer ones - with skirts , worn with boots seem popular
I have an older Somerset dress which is a stiff cotton. That dress is a lot of dress!
This year, I bought the velvet version and a long sleeve crepe. Both were imo more flattering and not as much fabric. Not keeping the long sleeve version which the dress was flattering but the colors were wrong for me. The velvet is a better color For me
The blue velvet dress looks lovely.
I have that style dress in cotton from Quince. It was too much fabric and I just passed it along to my daughter. I like the style so maybe I’ll try it in a different fabric.
At home I wear leggings and vuori (or dupes) joggers most days, unless I’m going to be “out”. I purposely brought only one pair of joggers to wear mornings and evenings in hotels and apartments. One of my daughters is going to bring over a pair of bike shorts for me so I can do some exercising while we’re in Provence.
We made it to Lyon today and there’s a definite change in what people are wearing, probably because a large city and folks are working as opposed to vacationing.
When you see a sea of dance trousers and cargo style cropped pants at stores like Lululemon and Athleta, with leggings found only in the back “yoga” section, it is a sign that leggings are out. ![]()
Or…. Lululemon and Athleta know that many people already have plenty of leggings. They want to make new sales. But that’s ok -nice to have something fresh and new.
These stores usually follow the trends quite well… because they sell a mix of exercise and street clothes and cater to mostly fashion forward, athletic crowd. IMO, Lulu will never get rid of its Align pants or running shorts (like their Hottie Hot) because they are a staple athletic wear for many of their customers, but will update their athleisure collection)like some yoga pants or joggers) with what’s trendy, like wide leg pants.
What I like about them is they don’t look barrel! So, you will be able to get many more seasons out of them. I hardly see anyone wear barrel jeans in my city, maybe they are at the universities, but I think it’s going to be a short lived trend. These gap jeans just look fun. Sort of remind me of the ones I bought from Macy’s.
Those sweats that look like jeans are Amazing. Did you buy them in the store or order online. You would never know they weren’t jeans.
I bought them from Nordstrom online - easy returns!
Wearing them as we speak! I also bought a “denim” tee.
Here is the tee:
