Today my we went out for breakfast, and we stopped at a small women’s clothing shop owned by friends. I like the emphasis there on “slow fashion”…sustainability, American made. Was sad to hear the owner will no longer be carrying Clara Sun Woo, as it is transitioning to mfg in China. Same happened with NYDJ a few years ago.
I wanted to find a top with good neckline for a lovely necklace my husband gave to me last year. I found one that was not cheap, but we both liked it… and it will be great for traveling. Although I had in mind to get a solid color, I ended up with a nice print. The big victory was that I had him help me review a bunch of “maybe” clothing items for consigment/donation. Will be getting rid of 16 tops . (Yes, this could have been a Declutter post)
I have a few bags of clothes to donate. I hang on to things that don’t fit correctly, aren’t comfortable or not as flattering as I would like. But they were nice still.
After cleaning out my mom’s apartment, it makes me want to clear out my spaces.
If I remember correctly, you’ve been helping clear a place. Nothing makes you more motivated than doing that.
I am slowly giving away clothing I don’t LOVE. It’s a challenge but I’m slowly making some headway. We were able to donate nearly all my ILs clothing & linens to a charity that wanted them for immigrants.
One of our neighbors has nearly constant garage sales to help fund private school tuition for her special needs children. We keep a bag handy and keep adding things to it and whenever it gets full we take it across the street.
Yep – cleaning out BIL’s apartment (with endless clothing/shoes) was part of my motivation. But I already had gathered many of these items in one section of my closet, waiting for a good time to do a fashion show with my husband. Ha, I see my outfits once in the mirror - he gets to see them all the time… he gets a vote. Once we splurged on the new blouse today, timing seemed good
Getting back on topic more, I like this print on the new blouse. Light fabric, nice for transition season, Had fun trying it at home with a variety of pant, shoes, tucks, jackets etc.
Speaking of giving away clothing….I am proud to share that this past weekend, one of my daughters helped me go through my closets and reduce by about 50%. We filled 30 trash bags of clothing, shoes, and pocketbooks that I gave to Goodwill. It seems amazing.
Lightweight fabric that washes well and dries easily without wrinkling. Sits about 3 inches above the knee for me on my 5’ 6” body. I’m not a fan of puffy sleeves, but these don’t look bad.
I love that chambray dress. Very versatile. I am only 5’4”, but I guarantee it would be shorter than I could wear. I really dislike when the descriptions don’t contain the length of the garment. My legs look awful above my knee
I love it! I just tried to order it and there are no mediums left . Does anyone have experience with sizes coming back in stock at Nordstrom? We don’t have a store in our state.
Several times I have found something back in stock at Nordstrom online a few days or weeks later. Maybe you could also do a google image search and find it elsewhere.
Ok, another option for the garden party cocktail wedding guest dress. What to people think of this? Is it dressy enough for 5:00 wedding? I purchased it as yet another option. I got it on sale 25% off. I didn’t want to pay as much as I did, but I think I will wear it again if I keep it
