I am a fan of eyelet fabric, too!
Yes, I think the shape is part of what keeps it age-appropriate.
Eyelet IS cute but I don’t have any garments with eyelet.
I like the color and the eyelet! I say go for it!
As pictured on a tall model, that length would be too short for me (especialy sitting in church). But… I’m short and would probably give it a try.
Has anyone here had any experience with Rue Sophie? Google suggested one of their skirts when I was looking for a particular balloon hem skirt, and their entire website looked like something I would wear over and over again, but I have never heard of this company. Here is the skirt.
My Kivari dress arrived, and it is perfect!

@1214mom I think that dress looks classic and elegant - totally appropriate!
Thanks for the opinions. I placed the order. I found something that showed model was 5’9” so hopefully it won’t be too short on me. It looked longer on one of the models than the other, even though they are both supposedly the same height. Fingers crossed.
Every year about this time I’m reminded that all the cute summer dresses I’ve bought stay hung in my closet while I’ve got a wool sweater and Ugg slippers on. I live in a paradise but one that gets a late start on sunshine.
It really depends on body type as to how things fit. Some folks have longer legs while others have longer torsos. Fingers crossed it fits as you prefer.
I’ve been checking the heights of the models a lot lately for dresses, pants and jeans. 9 times out of 10 they are several inches taller than me, so I can count on things falling lower on me. I do wish more jean companies would produce several heights in a regular jean size. I find myself ordering petites, when they are available but notice that they always sell out quickly. I do not meet the typical petite height, but I like most styles of jeans & pants to fall slightly above or right at my ankle bone. 26.5 or 27 inches is my sweet spot. I’ll also cut a raw hem jean to my desired length. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who buys petite because they sell out quickly.
Especially jeans with embroidery or some close to the hem detail that will be ruined by hemming! Alice and Olivia brand is notorious for this. Their jeans are designed for 6 foot tall women with very long legs! Their jeans fit my body well but I have to pass on the embroidered ones because of the hemming troubles.
I’ve been lucky recently. Used to always have to hem jeans but now Costco sometimes carries “short” and those fit w/o hemming—yay!
Hems are challenging—when they’re not quite right, often everything doesn’t fit quite right.
I seem to have the opposite problem. I’m 5’7” and my pants always seem to be too short. Occasionally there are some that come in a tall or long length ( though they can be too long).
I have long wondered why clothing manufacturers seem to understand that men are of differing heights, but all women seem to have the same inseam length?
Really dumb.

One happy thing for us short-legged gals is the current popularity of cropped pants. Those become full-length on me that I can wear with flats. No hemming required. My favorite local boutique posts reels every Friday and one of the two owners is built almost exactly like me: Long-waisted with short legs (so not petite-proportioned, even though we are both around 5’4”). She commented, “I hope cropped length never goes out of style!”
I was able to buy a pair of cropped-length pants from them with cut-outs at the hemline, and they worked perfectly for me as full-length pants. Yay!
I’m 5’3” but am right on the edge of Petite and Regular which unfortunately means depending on the inseam, the Regular is too long and the Petite too short, esp with cropped pants! I like them just above my ankle bone. I love when the manufacturer actually includes the inseam in their online description so I can judge which fit to get. It really annoys me that among others, Gap does not! And then there are others that only offer Petite in some of their jeans/pants, not all. My daughter has the opposite problem, she is 5’6” with very long legs and is short waisted. She has a difficult time finding a long enough inseam that isnt also too high waisted in the rise.

Yes! I recently bought three pairs of Gap cropped jeans that are full length on me.
Don’t know if we have many Talbot’s fans, but in store today they had all of their shorts for $25. They aren’t my favorites, but for $25 I got some 7 inch navy shorts I’m sure I will wear. I was thinking I might get the 10 or 10.5 inchers, but they were just too long.
