Dressing Young 2026

Birkenstocks KILL my feet. I can’t walk even a few steps in them. I’ve tried different styles and have had them professionally fitted at a Birkenstock store. I had 2 pairs that a I wore twice and ended up selling.

In addition to Nordstrom, many other big retailers are also having sales (Anthro, Madewell, Beyond Yoga, Athleta seems to always be having a sale, Vuori, Bloomingdales, Paige denim). I bought a pair of Paige jeans from Nordstrom (which I already own in too big of a size since a recent weight loss and had altered, but are still too big) that weren’t on sale but are sold out everywhere in the size that I need, so Nordstrom did get some money from me

Nordstrom also got some $$ from me. I bought a beautiful Veronica Beard dress that was on sale and a silk robe that I absolutely had to have. I’m eyeing some Cinq a Sept denim, but it is not on sale yet (it usually gets discounted quickly).

Not sure where to post this news but several posters here have mentioned this brand, Madewell. If this post should not be here, I could delete it.

Looking for a recommendation where to shop for simple barrette / hairclip for very fine hair (and not much of it). I rely on them (and sometimes bobby pins too) when I go out to run or play pickleball. Sometimes also for non-sport summer outings.

mechanism kindof like these…

A few years ago at the front of an Ulta store I found some really cute small ones with star design, alas now lost. They opened by squeezing a bit like a clothes pin, with slight ridges to clamp hair. Sooo much better than other simple metal ones (sort of bendy closure) I had from dollar store where my hair got caught in the tiny metal rivets.

Your link doesn’t link to a particular post for me with a clip. No one in my family has thin or fine hair so I can’t help! They all use the claw type clips and get them on Amazon or Sephora or Etsy type stores.

My hair is fine and I really like Fiona Franchimon No.1 Hairpins-they are kind of pricey and after awhile they break, but it is the only thing I’ve found that works for me! I use the regular size-I ordered a batch of the small ones and they were too small for what I wanted. Fiona Franchimon USA

It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of the clips you consider. Not all of us are on Instagram!

Well, I just bought a bunch of kids clothes at the anniversary sale. And a couple of bras. The socks I wanted were sold out. Unbelievable! Socks! Sold out?! Who would have thought?

Oopsy. I actually do very little instagram myself, found the link via google. Here’s a screenshot

Thanks for posting this. They look like hair stylists’ alligator clips (used to section and pin strands of hair during styling).

THANKS! That alligator term was exactly what I needed for searches. Many seem geared to pony tail, but now with correct term I should be able to find a small set (for pulling back the hair toward ears, when it doesn’t reach the pony tail). I see “duck bill” is another term sometimes used.

Hmmm. Nordstrom Sale.

30 years ago, I used to drop a bundle — kids clothes, nightshirts, work clothes.

Over the years I have had less and less interest. I did order 5 items— expecting to return most of them.

I think, if you have them “favorited” you will be notified if out of stocks are returned and available.

I bought this dress yesterday at a local boutique. FYI I should never be let out browsing!

It’s a color I have nothing in. How would you “style” this dress? I have no idea where I would wear this dress but it was so cute. The length is about 2 in above my knees.

It’s cute! Looks casual enough that it seems you could wear whatever flats you want (maybe even nicer white sneakers?).

I think the pattern has enough going on that I don’t really see a need for any more styling! Looks cute as is.

Very cute! I might wear it with white sandals. It’d look cute with a light, short necklace. It’s got such a nice breezy look - you don’t want to overdo the accessories.

Very cute! Love it! As others said, it doesn’t need much styling! Sandals or white sneakers and maybe a bracelet will do. It also looks like it can be worn in the fall with tights and western style booties.

Once again you’ve bought something I’d wear. Maybe not that color but I like that style. I’ve never looked great in dresses that fit at the waistline. I’d wear it with white sneakers.

I would wear this with a brown leather slide or white sneakers.

Haha, I am very unsure about the color. Way out of my comfort zone.

It was cute on. I was surprised that the color wasn’t horrible on me. Kinda flattering.

I have neutral sandals. I invision a black and gold necklace.
