I found a pair of Rag and Bone green slacks and a striped sweater top on clearance at Nordstrom that fit perfectly. Waiting for the weather to cool off so I can start wearing them!
I think a maxi dress or jumpsuit in a fall color would be pretty with boots and not too dressy.
Casual at a country club seems different to me than regular casual so I think your instincts are right. Maybe a casual dress or fun slacks with a blouse.
I agree with @elena13 that a cute maxi dress with boots would be fun. If it is a bit warmer then wear an ankle boot.
What about something like this. Before anyone talks about the very popular Somerset dress, this is chiffon. Lays much better than the cotton ones.
But any flowy long sleeve maxi dress with boots says fall country club casual to me.

If I had coffee in my mouth I would have spit it out! This made me lol!!
I don’t particularly enjoy shopping for clothes but since about Mother’s Day I’ve been doing a substantial refresh of my wardrobe. DH and I have another long international trip planned this fall. We’re in our go-go years and I figured I’ve learned enough from previous trips that I was prepared to replace some of my well-worn, slightly dated wardrobe staples. Tying in shopping to MD, Memorial Day and 4th of July sales added a little bit of a thrill to the hunt.
As an early retiree I had the time to “purchase and hold” to get the best price. Buying something and “not washing or cutting off the tags, and watching for price drops”, insured I got the color and size I wanted. It’s frustrating to go into a store with the intention of picking something up and they don’t have it in your size or the color you wanted.
I hadn’t shopped in a while and was surprised the first time I noticed an item was cheaper online than in the brick-and-mortar store. All you have to do is ask for the online price and the store will match it. And yes, I like physically trying on clothes in the store since sizing seems all over the place. I’ve bought XS to L in the same store!
My biggest purchases (quantity-wise) were at Uniqlo and Athleta. I’m very happy with my haul. My favorite style change is high waisted and “wide” leg pants and slightly cropped tops. At 5’4” I think it flatters my body type.
Yes, I prefer to touch and try things on in the store but often their selections are SO puny. Oh well, nice when they will match their online prices. Sometimes they will & other times they won’t. Never hurts to ask. Some will even price match other stores—but not always. Worth asking if you find same item.
My recent purchases were the Diana sheep sweater and these jeans (no, not meant as an ensemble
). So soft and comfortable, and the pattern at the bottom turns the otherwise unremarkable mom jeans into a fun clothing piece. And no hemming needed because Desigual apparently makes clothes for women of average height like me!

I did purchase these. Because I’m in my pants that feel like sweatpants faze. Sadly they are perfect lol!
Soft, full length on this petite girl, fit well, wide but not too wide leg.
I guess I will have to keep them

Also I love the ease of fit of Frank and Eileen. My wallet is not happy!
I ordered these from Madewell last week for our trip to CT the first 2 weeks of October.
Cute finds!
I bought this Amazon sun hat a few weeks ago - I’ve had so many compliments (even from a young guy or two, lol). It’s wired so you can adjust the brim and it’s flexible and packable (and reversible!)
Your preference is not for pants, but a jumpsuit can be quite elegant without being too much.
I’ve been loving the really wide flow-y pants for this kind of occasion. You can pair with a nice top and jewelry for something that is definitely a step up from basic day wear without running the risk of looking like you missed the memo.
I have recently had quite a bit of luck with The Real Real, often with items or brands I’ve tried in person.
I haven’t bought much this summer but this pair of Title Nine/Toad and Co. have been haunting me on all my feeds so I bought them this morning. Thought they might be a fun pant for early fall and maybe for the baby party I’m hosting for D1/SIL next weekend. My style is relaxed/sporty/colorful. I have a cute off white cap sleeved top with some smocking on it that I think would be casual and cute with some off white leather sandals
I bought the red crab apple print!
I have also been liking that combo of high waisted wide-legged pants with a shorter top. I haven’t been on that many international trips, but I did really enjoy shopping for and planning clothes for the ones I’ve taken. It’s kind of a fun challenge to find comfortable but stylish pieces and to try to put the colors together to do a lot of mixing and matching. Where are you headed on your trip?
7 weeks in Australia and New Zealand. The challenge is I’m limiting myself to 1 checked bag, my carryon backpack and a tote (personal item).
For travel I like wicking clothes that can dry quickly. A couple of my favorite recent purchases include:
Uniqlo: Women's AIRism Seamless Hiphuggers | High Rise | UNIQLO US (not sexy but practical and inexpensive) dries super quick, is high waisted (so there’s not gap between the top part and the waist of high waisted, thin material pants) and the edges don’t show!

not perfect but comfortable and will be practical in many situations

love these!

Bought a lot of these. I like the neckline for layering and it looks slightly dressy when worn alone. The white is truly opaque!!
Yes those seem like some good pieces. The trip sounds amazing! Enjoy!
I brought those Ultra Stretch Active Wide Pants to Morocco for our two week trip. They roll up small, weigh nothing and don’t wrinkle. I loved them so much a bought a second pair when I got home.
Uniqlo basics are great. I love their tees - opaque and wash well. I buy a size larger for a little more draping. Finding a decent thick fabric is tough these days.
Their bra tanks are a staple for me, as is the airism underwear.
Confession: I bought 2 black, 2 dark gray, 1 beige and 1 dark brown when it was on sale for $29.99. Uniqlo had a grand opening and I went a little
. You have to be very careful with sizing and stay up on their return policy, but I haven’t had any issues.
I also got this dress: Women's Ultra Stretch AIRism Dress | UNIQLO US
I thought it might be too long on me, but I was happy with how it fit.
