FWIW, I think your arms look great!
I love those shoes, super cute!
I think you would look gorgeous in that gown!
The dress is very pretty.
One caveat is that sleeve cuts my arms at my fattest point. Unless you have nice toned arms.
It says it’s sleeveless? I thought it was more of a short cap sleeve. If it’s in fact sleeveless, I would change my opinion
Also it’s really really hard to find an appropriate dress that suits all the points
It is a gorgeous dress and definitely OK for the occasion! If it fits well, add a wrap (I’m a fan of Nordstrom’s tissue weight ones), and you will be all set.
That will look gorgeous on you!!!
I agree that it’s lovely and should look great on you. A simple black cashmere or neutral wrap should be fine, IMHO.
Do you prefer this neckline - or sleeve?? You may still want a wrap.
I do, but I still worry about my crinkly-wrinkly arms and the fact that it’s a church wedding. Honestly, I think the latter is what is throwing me off the most. Or perhaps a combo of those two things. The dress you posted would absolutely require a wrap in church. At least for me.
I actually love the one I’ve linked below, but my friend said, “meh.”
And, I’d rather not spend this much. But I think it’s a cool dress and doesn’t have a MOB/MOG look to it. Of course, it’s also sleeveless.
I love that dress! The green color is so rich.
OMG, that is one amazing color! You’ll rock it. ![]()
I love the rich green color! If only I had an occasion that called for such a gorgeous outfit, I’d be interested. As it is, I don’t want to outshine moms of bride or groom, so wouldn’t wear it, but it’s so lovely!
My vote is for the green one!
I absolutely hate shopping for wedding guest dresses. I had three weddings this year and really only felt 100% confident in one of the dresses. The ratio of sleeveless dresses to ones with sleeves has got to be 99:1
Both are great dresses, @conmama! I think I like the fit in the first more but the color on the second is great and vibrant.
Wedding shopping is hard! I found so many dresses at this site - seems it might have one with sleeves that made you feel comfortable?

One more for everyone’s consideration.
I do like the green malachite, but I don’t like the price point. Though, it seems like something that might be more wearable in the future. I’m not sure it’s, “formal,” enough??
My main concern on this one is snagging the embroidery. It is black, but obviously not all black.
I have looked there, but I find many of these dresses too young/bare for me. My friend bought her class reunion dress there, but it was a midi.
Gosh, even many of the more traditional brands of long gowns have thigh high slits in the front! Just not suitable for a church wedding, IMO.
I still like the first one the best for a wedding.
I love the green and blue dress!
ETA - Have you checked Reformation? They have some nice long dresses.
I think all the dresses are pretty and all would work for a formal wedding. Not that I’ve been to one!
My D had a formal wedding a couple of weeks ago that said black tie formal only. She was going to wear one of her many wedding guest dresses that she owns since they are in full on wedding season. Had to go out at the last minute because she was a plus one for a friend who neglected to say what the dress code was.
I think the MOB or MOG never should wear black and I’m sorry your friend is. I guess that’s another post lol!
I don’t like the Adrienne Papell one much. The print, the sash – it just feels sort of meh to me.
The green one is a great color and style, and I understand the reluctance to spend a lot on something you may not get to wear much. (If you don’t have another event in mind, you kind of have to decide whether that’s an appropriate price for one wearing, because that’s a possibility. )
Editted to add: if you have designers whose fit is consistent for you, realreal can be an amazing source. Much of the evening wear has only been lightly used.
