Dressing Young (Part 1)

With SF you just have to check the forecast right before leaving, the range is big. A nippy low 50s much of last week but could be 70s this week.

BunsenBurner I could never in a million years get my H is those swim shorts. This is what he likes [Amazon.com: Quiksilver Young Men’s Manic Boardshort: Clothing](http://www.amazon.com/Quiksilver-Young-Mens-Manic-Boardshort/dp/B0030GEE8K/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1277143709&sr=8-3-fkmr1)

roshke…thanks for the idea but, yes, I’m quite sure that skirt would be a bit short for me.

Anyway, made it to Nordstroms Rack today but didn’t find any shorts or skirts (bought some other stuff though!). Clearance racks are messy but there were some finds at real cheap prices.

I actually LIKE cool weather - not cold but cool. 55 degrees sounds good to me. Then I could wear the cute little denim jacket I got at AT Loft last week. As it is, I won’t have that thing on for months. Maybe when I go to the Cape in August??

I saw these when I popped into the travel store today. Do they look to Teva like to be a wedge? I have hip problems and a hard to fit foot and these look like they might be comfortable.
They also had a brand I have not seen before Privo. They looked pretty comfortable. I didn’t have time to try anything on.

If you’re coming out our way this summer, you just have to bring layers. A tee, a shirt over, and a jacket. Pack city shorts, or a dress, and jeans - every now and then the day gets hot enough you don’t want to be wearing long pants. Hats and gloves are going to be overkill unless you are on the Bay, on a cruise, and can’t move around to stay warm.

Way cheap, quite comfortable and look nice with dresses. Happy with these:

Once lived in SF. Was always colder in summer than in winter. Have always missed it.

mom60, Privo are made by Clarks. They are pretty comfortable.

So ladies, what do you think of this skirt? It seems a bit pricey for what it is…but I’m figuring I could wear it with a t-shirt and flats in the summer and tights and boots in the fall/winter.
No, I haven’t ordered it…just thinking about it.

tone ranger, a friend has that skirt. It looks terrific on her, and I was thinkiong of getting it for work (we are casual).

mafool…you wouldn’t happen to know if this skirt runs large?

no, I’m sorry, I don’t.

It’s cute, some of the reviews say it runs large. I can’t see wearing it much in the summer…but would be great for early fall! I wish it didn’t have an asymetrical bottom.

OK…read through the reviews. I actually didn’t realize it had an asymetrical hem…it’s hard to tell from the pic. Anyway, lots of talk about ironing…so I think I’ll pass. That’s the LAST thing I need.

I do like the tiered look though…

Mom60 - DH asked for a “racing/training swim suit”, and he got it. Now I need 2 tickets to HI to find out if he will be brave enough to actually wear it. :D

OK, ladies, now you got me thinking about summer skirts. It did warm up to 64 degrees today, so maybe we will have summer after the 4th of July! I just heard a new term - “June-uary”. Sounds about right. :)

“June-uary”! That sums it up. I am wearing WOOL socks, long pants, long-sleeved T-shirt, sweatshirt with hood, and my H’s wool pullover sweater on top of that. Very chic.

Went to an outdoor concert at our local winery venue last Sat. (You know where, Bunsen.) Similar garb for that, plus fleece jacket plus rain jacket. I’m thinking summer clothes for Seattle are not a good investment.

Would love “June-uary!” It’s been 90+ here and I hate it.

My problem is it’s so dam# hot here BUT my office is NOT hot- to say the least. Sometimes you get tired of dressing in layers…

I found a few very cute skirts and skorts at Athletica. They’re not dressy at all…but a good alternative to shorts for errands and other activities on a hot day.

I hear you, MOWC. I am wearing a dress and strappy sandels to work today (with a cardigan of course). Hope I don’t freeze!

mom60, I really liked those Teva’s. Really cute and I think the wedge is nice. I’ve seen that style in a flat and there were very cute on.

I love Privo’s. They are made by clark’s. I have a pair and wear them all the time. As comfortable as sneaker’s.
